Sometimes it's ok if the story doesn't go super deep into "fixing their problems," the fact that he voiced out his inferiority complex, and his partner knows about it and is understanding, to me means that in the future they will talk it out when, and if it causes problems. You can't simply just "work through" inferiority complex, it's different for everyone, and it will either go away with time or not. You can love someone and still feel this complex, but it gets easier to accept it when you truly love the other, because once you start feeling happy for them it gets easier to get up from there!
