"Beauties can cause the downfall of nations"
I read this quote somewhere once and honestly I think it applies to this manhwa. Call me a basher or whatever but Yooyoung isn't worth turning the country's political situation into chaos. Aside from being a typical delicate flower uke nothing's really special about him. You can argue that "oh but he's so traumatized and abused, so pitiful" but is he really worth the trouble he brings? Sure he's very useful for the angst, but otherwise? Sorry for my wording but he's just a baggage. Unless he becomes a strong MC in the future which I don't think will happen BC he's one of those White Lotus types, then in my book he belongs to the trope of MCs that I have a particular dislike for. The pitiful MCs who do not have an ounce of self respect and rely on the men they pull all the time whilst throwing everything else in their way out of order. I feel like a villain today so I'll say it.
It would've been better if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace.

Where do we get the plot if he doesnt exists? This story is about him. I agree that his demeanor is tiring but since it is not out of no where, he acting like that because of the way he grew up, being abused and whatnot it's justified compared to other white lotus who just simply naive. Really want him to get away with the general but well, aint gon happen#-.-)

Yeah I completely understand that, and that's one of the reasons why I'm so helplessly annoyed bc without him the plot wouldn't exist, but at the same time if he never came into the picture everything would've been more peaceful than it is now. I'm not invalidating his past either, I'm just saying that he's not worth the trouble he brought.

That would definitely be hardcore considering their personalities lol. If it did happen though, imo, for it to work the General would have to be the top. Since the emperor is so toxic/obsessive it just balances the field out, plus throughout the course of the story this dynamic can allow his character to change for the better due to the General's caring and self-sacrificing nature.

I think that's a bit backwards to be honest. It's not Yooyoung who's the problem, it's the crown prince who's a complete psychopath and handles the situation incredibly stupidly because he doesn't understand the value of life and does not have any human decency. Sure, if we disregard that Yooyoung is a victim one can argue that he isn't worth the trouble, but we would not have this situation in the first place if the crown prince wasn't an inhuman piece of shit (to put it mildly). He's the one with the power and could easily have chosen to either send Yooyoung away or at least attempt to protect him so we wouldn't have this whole mess. If the system falls apart because of Yooyoung, then it was bound to fall apart sooner or later anyway.
So to be clear: if a beauty causes the fall of the nation it is still the fault of the people in power.
I respect that Yooyoung as a main character isn't to your taste though. And we can all agree it would have been better if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace.

Yeah, and I understand that. What I'm pointing at is LOGICALLY if Yooyoung never arrived at the palace everything would've been much more peaceful than it is now. He literally caused a rift between the country's literal general; the protector of the country, and it's damn emperor. Yes he's not entirely at fault that's why what I'm talking about his arrival instead of his actions. I'm not invalidating his progression, I'm acknowledging that he's that type of person, I'm just saying that for the trouble he brought, if he doesn't get stronger/tougher in the future in this manhwa then what was the point? I understand that everyone's different but if a person becomes a major catalyst for trouble and doesn't even have anything to justify it it's only a matter of time before pity turns into annoyance and doubt.

To you, you
Fucking disgusting asshole manwhore dick brain shitty revolting orange chocolate looking piece of shit motherfucker with dirt and cum for brains annoying heartless undeserving of love rapist that deserves to be skinned to death then tied to 4 horses to be ripped apart repulsive shitty ass man lower than a demon ML

Y'all gotta stop blaming the uke because you literally sound like shut ins who have never seen the real world before or thought like a proper adult would. Who wouldn't be afraid after seeing someone beat a group of people half dead? I'd say the MC's reaction is rather realistic compared to the other ukes who make out with the semes right after as if nothing ever happened. Plus, what he said in the end, it's something that a proper adult would say. The MC probably said it because he already CONTINUOUSLY told the ML beforehand to stop before he goes too far but he didn't listen and beat the guys far too severely. It's also a realistic reaction to something you grew up with getting destroyed because of an incident caused by someone outside your circle. Let me state some things that are probably going on in the MC's head.
1. He's still shaken up after almost getting gang raped and witnessing ML literally beat the guys almost half dead with blood splashing all over. He's a sheltered rabbit with no ties to the mafia world and he's never seen something that intense.
2. The reason why his family got targeted in the first place was because they were letting someone from a rival gang (the ML) get so buddy buddy with them.
3. He likes the ML but knowing number 2 he probably has conflicting feelings towards the ML rn. He's probably grateful towards him and loves him, yet he probably also feels scared and slightly aggrieved and wary towards him because he's the main 'cause'/trigger for this incident in the first place.

I think the story is ruined for others because of the common bypassing of attempted r@pe, beat up dad, attempted trafficking. They resolved it with the antagonists not receiving enough consequences. Like if you think about it realistically:
Imagine a bf beats up his partner’s attempted r@pist. The partner then says he was wrong for fighting the r@pist. Then the bf goes to the r@pist and says “sorry I was wrong for hurting you.” Sounds pretty ridiculous. It mainly bothered me that ao didn’t at least thank asuka for saving him from almost getting SA.

Anyways people can go off if they want since at the end of the day, it’s a fictional story and not reality. People don’t always have the same reactions to things between real life and fiction.

Yep I understand this. Yet, the reason why I still decided to comment was because I felt extremely baffled by the amount of people blaming the uke for being afraid and hesitant towards the ML when they themselves saw what the seme did to those men, infront of the already traumatized uke. I feel like the 'never thanked' part was unintentional. It's not as if the uke wasn't thankful towards the ML, he just never verbally said it, along with all the things that happened, there's not enough mental nor emotional space for him to say so. I've already listed the reasons why I think the uke's feelings are valid above. Yes, the story was not the best and I do not have the slightest feeling of connection to it, I just wanted to explain this part because it seems as if nobody in here looks deeper than the surface.

I think it makes sense for the Uke to be scared in the moment- but after he calmed down is when I’d most blame him tbh. How the Uke handled things was where I’d give him some fault. He didn’t do much to actively seek out the ML first or go out of his way to say “I was scared that you went too far, but I know you did it to protect me.” It more like he said, “I was scared and I don’t want you to save me like that.” It’s mainly been the ML one-sidedly initiating things from the start. It wasn’t as if the Uke was super traumatized judging by the way he reacted to the ML when they met again, being all smiley and kissing him right away.
This is just going around in circles atp it would've been better if the author just stuck to a slice of life wholesome manhwa about jaewoo, hyeonjin and the kids and how they grow together, pay off the debt, and maybe some other plotlines etc. but no they just had to throw in this black pepper looking ass love interest who does nothing but overcomplicate everything. Sure a bit of spice and seasoning to the story is great, but in terms of Mujin, to me (personally as someone who read this from the day it was first uploaded and grew fond of the 4's little world within the weeks/months I followed their story before Mujin Vande into the picture) he's like a bottle of pepper you spilled all over a good dish in an attempt to make it taste better, but you overdid it and now a lot of the people who eats it just coughs the shit out of their lungs, confused about wtf this dish even is at this point. Sure there's some people who like the dish still and those who still choose to eat it because they already started it but I'm not one of those people. I liked it better without the fucking pepper.
I understand why some readers would love this 'bad boy mafia murderer traumatized ML' but I just can't bring myself to respect y'all bc I hate him so much for overcomplicating the story I used to love (bc it was so wholesome and chill)
Lollll personally I got a high spice tolerance and a little bit of pepper won't do shit for me so the extra drama just hits but I also got hella weak lungs so I completely get how the story was framed as a slice of life and now it's suddenly a drama with a hint of mystery in it which could be annoying. And tbh the back and forth is starting to get on my nerves I can only take so much as well but it's been nearly 2 years since I started reading so I feel that sorta commitment lolll. In general the mafia murder plot is so over played but I can't help but love a copy and paste plot at times yet I also feel this isn't the story for that lolll
HELP BALC OELER
Are you ok lmao
