This is one of the few Yaoi I've read where the women not only have faces, they have personalities and character. Sure, they are sad and broken for the most part, but so are the main characters. It's not some mythical world where women don't exist. It added to the sense of realism and like reading about real people, not just cliche characters in a typical plot.
I came here after reading Terebi-kun No Kimochi from the same author, which is super sweet and fluffy. Then I got to this and was like wtf! The ending was amazing, but it started out so rough. That Uke really put himself in a dangerous situation. too many kids get bullied or raped by thinking the person they like are calling them out.
I suspect the Uke have isn't quite mentally healthy (something not unusual in people that one of their parents suffers from a mental illness. He probably should receive treatment to avoid ending up as his mom
