Wow. It just sorta ended Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
Unless hopefully there's a new villain, but nothing has been established to lead me to that conclusion.
THINGS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE TAKEN AS SPOILERS BELOW
Pros:
1) the art is amazing. The costume and character designs are interesting and there are some beautiful spreads and panel layouts
2) Rago is easily the best character. I always give a +1 for sassy cats
3) the battle scenes were epically drawn
4) the premise is interesting as well as people's abilities/powers
Cons:
1) Did this get cancelled or did something happen to the mangaka (hopefully not!)? Because there are a TON of unanswered questions and open plot points. Like, the final fight just suddenly happened and then it wrapped up in like 3 chapters.
2) that being said the characters themselves are so cliche and one-note. They almost have no personality beyond basic shounen characters with cliche backgrounds. Amagi is so boring to listen to, I skim through his monologues, because he has the personality of cardboard. I feel like the shortness of the story hurts any possible character development these characters could've had, ontop of new characters being introduced, given already established characters less time to be fleshed out
I primarily stayed for the art and awesome fight scenes, but beyond that there's nothing memorable about this. BUT I can understand why people really like it and I would be interested to see what the mangaka makes next (hopefully with better pacing)
Normally I don't like school settings because I find the banter between classmates to be really boring, but I find Mao and his friends to be very interesting and entertaining, and I love seeing them interact with each other (Hisashi included)
