I enjoy seeing GS acting like a silver rank. Being an idiot I would have rushed the square, but he's all let's make a stand where we can get most advantage.
I don't think GS really needs to "level up" more, he's always been high on experience and combat intelligence, equipment and armour upgrades would do a lot. But it would go against character type.
Such a pure and sweet story, it could have been darker and that scared me, but it didn't dwell on the bad stuff. It was worth it seeing them both open up.
