I am confused how people may think he loves Dan?! That's not love, it's ownership. He doesn't see Dan as a love interest but a toy to humiliate as we saw. He doesn't give a shit what happens to Dan. This is not love, it's about control. You don't force someone you love into something they don't want to.
I do think he likes Dan but again the love in this is twisted and his feelings are being horrifically expressed. The fact that he likes Dan doesnt change the severity of his actions at all, its clear he harbours an affection for Dan similar to like but he treats him horribly so i understand why you think his actions are nonsensical towards someone he likes. I think abusers can have feelings towards their victims while also being abusers, the fact is that their feelings dont change their actions at all but acknowledging their feelings is just so we can understand them better. Again, not a justification just moreso an interest in their psychology.
Of course, I still wouldn't say it's love. Considering this is a dark romance, it's logical to say this is how he expresses his liking to someone.I think when he starts to ''love'' Dan, he''ll be even more cruel and possessive.The more love, the crueller the actions in this case I guess.
Honestly speaking more than love or like,he views Dan as his cure. It's noticeable that having Dan made his "jinx" recover alot better. So if Heesung just came rolling in to take Dan,his anger and obsession for his "cure" went out of hand resulting in sexual assault.
