It makes me so sad to see him treat his (I actually had to correct myself there because I was going to type “my”) grandma like that. I know he doesn't think she's his grandma (I do but that's a story I'll elaborate on further down*) but my one grandma died and the other is a raging narcissist so I would give anything to have a sweet old lady that just wants to love me as a grandma in my life. Everything the grandma does in this legit brings treats to my eyes.
* I'm convinced that his adoptive dad was asked by his actual grandma to take him somewhere with more people, where he would have more fun and more experienced growing up, and when he was in danger, the adoptive dad sent him back to his bio-grandma. That's my theory on this.
...and honestly, WHY is this so goddamned wholesome?!?! It's about a murdered who got out of prison just to open a SEX SHOP of all things, just to turn around and be completely accepted and full on cricket ADORED by his previously conservative seeming little wholesome community.
I mean I AM only on chapter 4 so far, but it is continued like this,, it may end up being a favorite.

I'm really unsure how to feel. I don't really quite understand what is even going on to be honest. I don't get why they're no longer together, because something mob kid's dad did that he tried to stop and ended up making worse because he was A LITERAL CHILD at the time? And I'm not blaming him, he made it worse but none of what happened was his fault. Sure, had he done what he was supposed to, they may not have died in that moment, but Mafia dude is kind of the absolute literal worst and getting the parents hooked on the drugs would have been just as bad if not worse. At least when blondie's parents were in the accident, he got to retain the beautiful image of them and not have to watch the Mafia douche Frick them up really bad. Neither outcomes are even remotely good but at least with this one mob son is in absolutely no way the bad guy in that particular situation.
It's just another super aggravating situation where for literally zero reason, the main characters have a neat allergic reaction to the entire concept of communication.
Here's how I would have written this story:
It starts with the brunette and blonde mc's are doin' it. They get walked in on by one of the brunette's underlings and find out they have to run again.
Turns out although brunette still works for his dad, since the day blonde's parents were in the “accident” he all but kidnapped blonde. He got one of his dad's underlings who happened to have a soft spot for brunette to adopt blonde under a different name, and the two of them were the bestest of friends growing up. Underling got blonde homeschooling and socialized him by running a hidden homeschool for other Mafia kids who's parents are affected by douche-dad or something like that. Thus, blond is a fully functioning human being and totally taken care of so he never has to deal with his ass-hat cousin.
If then start it with the dad finding out the kids hasn't died in the accident after all and he starts trying to hunt the two down. The rest could pierced the same but now at least there isn't that unnecessary excuse of a reason for the two of them to be apart.
Sorry to the creator(s), this started really strong, I just feel like the same story could be told without Blondie being abused and that lack of communication is a cop-out of an excuse for plot.
