I'm only on chapter12, but I had something kinda fun to share. I'm an artist/crafter and was inspired by this story but not in the way you'd imagine. When you first meet the S class esper, he's wearing his uniform. I was immediately interested in the design...
of the besides root on his shoulder lol. I analyzed it for hours and after 4 tries and 4 failures,I was able to not only make it, but figure out how to do so without looking at the photo! I still need to look at it to remember how to start it out, but once I get in the groove, I can make it as long as I want without even having to open tmy web browser!
Anyway, not meaning to brag so much as just being super proud of both the artist for drawing something so complex that is actually Marielle irl, but myself for having figured it out without having to be taught!
God I love this story so, so much! Theo is so beautiful and the storyline is amazing. I got some reason thought it was over so I'm super happy I was wrong!

Personally, I was holding for some insane redemption arcs but was never under even a wisp of a delusion that this story had anything to do with love. Thing is, it could have.
This could have easily been about how the top dog dude was so messed up because he wasn't really human (although I'd make it turn out that he totally is, he's just been genetically messed with to combine him with the monsters to make him a super esper), he has never learned how to treat someone he loves because he's only ever known the cold sterilization and ruthless accuse brought on by the center's medical malfeasance and unnaturally hardcore training, and he had been taught to always use any means necessary to get what he wants, never learning how to not be a literal sociopathic psychopath. Not to mention his emotions and hormones being skewed toward sex being a tool he uses for literal healing, and not emotional fulfillment.
He could have started out similarly, but upon learning that although holding mv's brother medically hostage got mc in the vicinity, and technically in his arms, he needed to know how to get what he realized he _really_ wants, to be loved back. So he starts to learn how to love someone and hope to differentiate sex for healing and sex for combined pleasure.
I'm the interim, and because his crazy had previously influenced the other 3, this change also starts to influence them. They see how mc still hates them but is warming up to him, the biggest psycho out of the bunch.
All together they learn the meaning of friendsh... er, how to actually respect, well, literally ANYONE and the ones who do live, are ever so slightly less fucked up together.
I only wrote all of this out because it's how I've decided it ends. I'm out guys. I just can't since the blood. Most of this is so unnecessary and although I was loving the non-rape related plot, I lost the last bit of hope with Mr.. Mittens (gloves, technically I guess lol) beating mc for literally zero reason whatsoever. I told myself that if the next chapter had even the slightest inkling of plot at all, Is keep reading.
Nope.
I might come back at the end and skip through the rape just to get the closure, but I'm officially dropping this otherwise.

Yeah, this scene was hands-down one of the worst in the novel. It goes back to the main plot right after this and after that there’s only two more sex scenes IIRC, both of which are with Shinje and one of which Yugeon initiates. We’re very close to the end, actually.

I love this so far but it drives me a little nuts how often characters just blatantly dismiss or condemn other characters with literally zero period of their crimes/failures. I had to stop reading a mafia×lawyer because the characters both had aholes whispering in their ears and one was at least smart enough to try to have a discussion where the other kidnapped and subsequently raped the other. I can handle rape in a story of its relevant and over all effect makes the story better. This thought was completely baseless and with absolutely unnecessary to the story imo we've already established the character was crazy and violent. Don't take away what was literally his only redeeming quality.
I know I'm ranting about a different manhwa but it always starts with a massive, completely unfounded assumption that came from a field so far off to the left the right is calling it ”woke”.

You can buy a psycho in every way except sexually and I hoped that was going to be the case. I love a good little psycho. For example, The Beast Must Die is probably one of my favorite manhwas and he's literally a psychopath, and he treats his partner quite well considering. Everyone else however...

The author made it very clear that they were twins, at least to me. I mean, at first I thought she was a ghost? hahaha the whole thing's so weird that I can't premeditate anything in this manga, which makes me anxious each update (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Oh with how he goes after mc, hellz ya he knows it. When people say it when he's around. He never said a thing about it. Most people would say thanks or nah but to say nothing is almost worse than ”I know.” It's like he's saying ”it's so obvious I don't even have a response” and that confidence, without the arrogance of the people who do say ”I know” is so fucking hot.
I know how you feel. I'm uncannily good at guessing stories be it movies, comics (manga, manhwa, manhua, graphic novels, etc.), TV shows, novels, even real life to the point that I was convinced I was psychic for a time. Turns out I'm just really good at determining outcomes and people watching lol.
That all said, this one is tripping me up. My very first prediction was that they're cops. They're working on this island as a host to a kind of witness protection program and that the basement is a series of apartments or something. Then the drugs thing happened I thought: ”ok, so maybe they relocate the people needing protecting to another place on the island and they're just not allowed outside?” That said, the blood on the bucket had me thinking they killed her. Omg I just realized they had a bunch of meat the next day. For the love of all that is holy PLEASE don't have them feeding him people. Waaaah I want off this ride, er, I mean, train of thought!
That said, I so feel like they're good hearted people. I think the author wants us to think one thing when another is happening though, and the fishing is s big reason why. They wanted us to think they were doing something bad but it turned out to only be fishing. I have THREE theories about this one:
1. The drug divers often leave stuff in or attached to the wildlife and the fishing rod had a special magnet or something on it that connects it. Then they get food and ingredients.
2. They're selling up to do a massive sting to take down the people endangering the lives of MC and whom we're all pretty sure if his relative (his ”twin”).
3. The blood bucket was part of their cleaning of meat they hunted. They had prob the next day (bacon) so I'm thinking wild boar, but the reason I went on the cannibalism tangent was because humans are so genetically similar to pigs that I assumed they would be most likely to get away with pawning it off as that. I also noticed that MC didn't eat any meat that night. He only ate the octopus that we've seen... And we saw them catch that specifically.
Oh jeez while writing the first theory, I just came up with another one! I think MC is being drugged!! He falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow, which is constantly mentioned, his love interest was super surprised he woke up in the night, (that I'm suddenly now wondering if he dosed him less that time because he doesn't want to lie to him anymore and secretly wanted to get caught) he complained of having a stomach ache while at their house and he rarely eats anything (which being a mom myself, is really anxiety inducing, god the amount of times I've wanted to adopt him, omg...)
Another theory I have, I'm going to have to do a third reread for and I'm unsure I want to look. What if the drugs are actual ingredients and MC owns a restraint chain back home. He's trying to get rare ingredients, not drugs, and the thugs are just that he is super caring and takes in people that are generally ostracized. He also just has an odd sense of style.
Anyway, those are just a few things I've picked up lol.
