I feel like there are some unfinished things so I'm really hoping that there will be another volume!
…and I still love it. I think people are starting to complain because it has slavery in it (which is just inherently wrong), and now that the plot is starting to stagnate just a little, it's easier to focus on the negative.
About the slavery specifically within this story, the market was abused but it was designed for people to apply to be put up for auction to get taken care of by richer people. It's a terrible system and/because it was extremely abused both because people were kidnapped and thrown in illegally, and because some of the purchasers were absolutely atrocious. I know they were kaiboshing the sale of people with rare traits, and I wonder if it will go in the direction of getting rid of slavery all together and just set up a creative, robust sex work system instead. That way there is no tie to slavery, and everyone has agency over their own selves mentally and physically.
I would also love to see Jadeite get his own furniture store where they can work together. I just feel like this could get really stale really fast, and/or become super tropey because there isn't much in the way of new sex stuff they can discover together without getting into kinks.
I love this universe and the characters and I hope if it isn't ending soon, that the Mangaka has something good on its way. Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
