This is not yaoi? I avoid manhuas because the art feels beautiful, but also artificial? Am I right? It seems like it’s computer generated. Also, there isn’t any sex scenes so no yaoi? I read until chapter 30 ish.
thats just how chinese stories are.
they are long because most of them like putting detail such as character interactions etc.
and at the same time its illegal to show gay scenes in china. so they are stuck making long stories about characters falling in love over time but unable to show the "fruits" of their love (kissing sex etc etc).
so its not empty. its there and its yaoi but its heavily censored and ig that is messing with your perception.
(also this isnt only novels/comics. this extends to real gay couples. they also have to cencor their relationship because it illegal. )
I can’t decide if I hate the art or I really hate the art. It’s weirdly generic??? It may be considered good if all the characters were modeled after a Ken doll….
I will give it a few more chapters.
Art was a bit off for me as well in these first chapters l, but at least for my taste it became way better in later chapters. Most recent ones remind me of the art style from Pearl boy and some other manhwa (I'm not saying it in negative way, some stories just have similar vibe when it comes to art and design)

I couldn’t for the life of me remember, who Hanjun was, but I just remembered he was the sex friend of the original artist guy. He was dumped after the artist guy got back with his childhood friend. He was super patient and wronged in the first story. I am glad he is getting his own spin off. But it didn’t seem like he really actively or passionately pursued the artist friend in Lover Boy. Even in the beginning of this story, he has kind of an apathetic air about him. I hope he shows more passion in this story, and he fights for his love.
I saw that, Jin low-key looks like the New Recruit guy, so I was a little confused. I thought it may may have been the continuation of The New Recruit….. which would not have been bad either. :)
That’s been my issue with Hanjun as well, just seems like he goes through the motions more than anything and it doesnt make him actually sympathetic which im sure is what the author is aiming for. It’s just comes across that he likes what he likes as long he’s interested, but beyond that he’s not actually passionate, admittedly I feel Eunho is wasted on him, but maybe opposites attract so we’ll see.
After reading this, I can’t read lover boy. I’m too upset
Oh no! You should definitely read Lover Boy first. It’s a great story. You think you won’t like the couple there after reading this, but you couldn’t be more mistaken! They are so so cute too.
… I don’t know I really don’t like them rn
Don’t worry, whenever you’re ready is fine!
MHM BUT MAYBE ILL GIVE IT A TRYY! Thank you
You can do it! You won’t be sorry at all. It won’t be as bad or controversial as you think. Please let me know if you like it. Seriously, he didn’t really feel compelled to fight for anyone in the first story. You will see that it happens like it should. :)
