This is a great story and novel premise. It reminds me a little of Enders Game with the Formica ant thing. I like the art too, and I think it’s hilarious about how Van is such a freak. I hope he truly comes out with some redeeming quality, since that poor skinny dude has suffered enough. I can’t wait to read more of this!
First, the art is good, but the pointy chins and the weird glasses are getting me. And a lot of the characters look alike so I get confused sometimes. I liked where this started at first, but the plot is getting confusing and somewhat repetitive. I don’t understand how they broke up but are not broken up? I am not sure where this is going to lead to. The beat downs are crazy extreme though. I like how beautiful the mom is and how she still struggles to try to get some freedom for her son. It’s okay so far, but after a few more chapters, if there is no significant progress, I can’t take the ML apathy.
The world and the characters are absolutely amazing. The main characters are really beautiful beings. The idea of the avian and serpent races i so vivid and imaginative. This needs a bit better smut scenes, but other than that, it is amazing. That is a piddly little critique, but it’s the only one I have. Absolutely amazing story!
If you like this, there’s a book called Hawksong that I think this story is at least lightly if not directly inspired by/based on, it’s a straight version and the characters are definitely more flawed. The avians are the emotionless ones, it’s an interesting dynamic and story tbh

…he calls him dad. It’s likely because he doesn’t know what it’s like to have a dad, and he is the only male who provided any kind of nurturing and love. It’s an all encompassing love~like father, brother, lover, friend. I don’t think it’s right, but it’s kind of sad and beautiful at the same time.
