Although I agree with your dislike, I don’t agree with your argument that it was because of her that shuli died. It was the cardinal that killed her in the name of god. She would not have left with so little people to guard her journey. As Jeremy s mother, seeing as they didn't have any real bad blood between them, might have kept her near them for a while longer. By telling shuli hat they practically hate her, she gave a chance to the evil religious nut jobs to end her in a most brutal manner. She is undeniably part of what caused her early death

The church came up with the plan, so had shuli not left the mansion on that day, if a miracle had damaged all the carriages or made all the knights come with her, she would have still have died. If she had lived a day longer, her dead would still be unjust and sad, bc the church would have assassinated her and used her dead for their plan.
Yes it is still a tragedy bc most likely there was little to no chance that the fam would have become as peaceful and happy as they are now.
