So so rushed compared to the novel.... definitely feeling an author who wants this story done with. It's a shame. The nuance and time between him coming back and even seeing the emperor or having this convo was longer and felt more earned. This is just a smash cut of the story at this point... something about the drawings too, the emotions just aren't there for me anymore, like bad actors. W/e maybe I was too into the novel so this feels disappointing.
This has fallen off for me. Feels too different to the novel and like a budget version that's trying to improve things by making small changes but is just making it worse and writing itself into corners.
Maybe I'm wrong but from my memory of the novel mc and raon don't kiss. They aren't explicitly together in a romantic relationship, it's obvious raon wants to be but mc is just kind of ignoring it. they never do anything particularly romance related past when raon force kisses him while drunk. That was the only kiss I remember between them in the novel - it's been a while though so I could be forgetting something.
Raon is a lovely guy in the novel, so nice and patient and understanding. The conflict comes from mc making the choice to go back to garon anyway and how that choice has no real logic to it outside of 'but I think i miss him and like him' call it brainwashing/Stockholm syndrome or w/e it just felt more understandable in the novel than here...
Though granted he doesn't go back with the intention of being with garon, he just wants to live solo on the mountain so it's not quite so weird that he leaves Raon. Plus its more from a sense of guilt for not reciprocating feelings than wanting to actively go back to garon.
Right so to make it maybe make a bit of sense. This isnt it. In the novel it genuinely felt like the king is dead. He dies and they fly away, yes after mc tries to save him with the horn but it seemingly fails. At this stage and for chapters after I genuinely thought we were in a dead emperor epilogue. I think this is kind of failing to give the same gravitas to the moment.
Then we go to his life away from the Emperor. The chasing arc is still to come and it is a gentle persistent chase where he actually shows restraint and that he's actually trying to be a better person for mc. For a psychopath with no emotions it's something right?
Also mc never stops feeling guilty for liking the Emperor back. He will have nightmares forever more about his mother and his guilt.
My personal take is that having someone so powerful want you so strongly, might make anyone 'fall' if you get what I'm saying. People in the real world are into serial killers etc it's wild but it happens.

Our mc will not be happy when he knows brownie is behind the drugs that got the boy killed... which is also why I think our blondie is the supplier. Puts them on a level playing field in that respect. I know he's a squishy lawyer student but the vibe is just off. Hiding his identity, saying he's got no family, his 'mother' trying to cover up the assault, the weird 'theres a problem hyung' phonecall (if i remembered it right) ... makes no sense yet but he's suss too imo.
Our poor mc just got caught up in a massive family drugs conspiracy!! Or I've been reading too many wacky mystery thrillers and am overcomplicating it (￣∇￣")
I'm enjoying it a lot though. Love a jealous top and don't mind a well done love triangle, which so far this is for me.
Also I actually find it so funny he was just trying to get him hooked on drugs but when given the opportunity, chose to smash instead. I love it.
Feel like that was a storyboard for an animation or video, not for a webtoon/comic/manwha. Way too long winded for the sake of drama to just feel silly at the end. Childcare got the same feeling in half the panels.

Mc irritates me, just doing a whole bunch of nothing while these guys fight over him. Ok he does some stuff next but I know half of you ain't gonna like what he does, then the other half are going to hate the next thing he does (≧∀≦) he's so non-committal during all of this. Beaten down by circumstance I suppose.
C'mon Hawon... start listening please. He said he doesn't want the mega float and you're just going to make things worse trying to impress him. Can Hawon just accept Taeha has complicated feelings for him, wants him safe and with him and not to be with anyone else? Use that! I know he wants to be seen on the same level as Taeha, hat he doesn't want to be taken advantage of or be a burden to him but like, just sit tight! Stop going to Aeil and use those ambiguous feelings to get what you want ffs!
I think the main reason he won't share the wiki leaks with Taeha is because he doesn't actually want to be abandoned by him and he's worried if Taeh gets what he wants he'll never see Taeha again. He could just ask for more money and freedom and give him the wikileaks. That's what I'd do. That's also the real test of his feelings, if you give him want he wants and he leaves you alone, you've got your answer and can start over. I doubt that would happen though! Even if it's toxic, abusive and shitty Taeha won't just leave him alone and Hawon doesn't seem to understand that.
I'm not 100% on what everyone is trying to acheive anymore... I think Taeha is over the revenge against Hawons dad at least. Now it's aeils dad still i guess? and now the grandfather's will? Is the grandfather still alive? Was there a decoy/wrong will? If the kwon boys aren't legitimate would that make aeil the heir to everything? Is that even how business works!? We'll see i guess.
Reading it all together from about chapter 83 made it all make more sense tbh. This is one that's hard to follow 1 chapter a week!
Thing is, authors like this do too good of a job making us dislike the MLs, give them too much unhinged hatred to make their revenge stories make any sense, that they forget about how hard it is to redeem someone like that.
Like, I believe them that their ML is an unhinged, hateful psycho who only thinks and cares about himself and his unprocessed sadness. What can you possibly do to make me think otherwise? To change my mind to thinking a grown ass man couldn't process this loss without torturing someone tangentially involved who was actually a live victim of the same person you wanted revenge on. It's a hard sell.
Lots and lots of rejection of ml from mc please. So much rejection. Mc needs to be alone. I don't know this Dr and I dont know the angle but as someone has guessed I think he's here for ml to save mc from. I dont like that but we'll see.

I'm up for stories like this, I think it's was balanced in how she left him. I prefer it when they admit it's toxic and bad, which i feel the author definitely did here. Maybe there was an attempt at redemption but I still wouldn't trust him, but the fl is on board with it so I guess it's fine.

Everyone close to him lies to him and keeps him in the dark. No wonder he's a broken man-child. Even Josh, and Josh is almost worse because he continues to lie to him about him being an omega, the child, the marking. He choses to keep him in the dark for what? Honestly, while reading it if I was chase, I don't know that I could forgive Josh for the bold face lies. It's quite unsettling. The lying and concealing is never really addressed either, just 'oh happy ending because the kids yours and you already marked me, yay! Nevermind that I've kept this a secret from you for years'

It would be too weird for him to start being nice now, it's not his way to ask nicely or be polite yet. I presume he'll get there with effort and practice. Probably more realistic for him to need to be intentional with working on himself rather than just have the realisation he's an ass one second and the next he's a kind, apologetic changed man. Slow and steady makes sense. So would him choosing to do therapy - just saying.
Yeah I dont like the smut here. Its rape, he's saying no stop, it goes on longer than he wants and I don't care that he comes or if 'he's just saying no but he means yes' he is saying no and to stop. That's all it takes for it to be rape. This is an abusive relationship and I hate it. But I recognise that this is what the author was going for.
I recognise that nervous energy around the topic, not wanting to say no, feeling coerced into it to make them happy and not leave, dreading them going too far or w/e. Maybe this does it for some, but not for me. I don't like sehyuk and I dont even think he's attractive, the slicked backed hair is icky and I'm just not a fan at all.
