I'm up for stories like this, I think it's was balanced in how she left him. I prefer it when they admit it's toxic and bad, which i feel the author definitely did here. Maybe there was an attempt at redemption but I still wouldn't trust him, but the fl is on board with it so I guess it's fine.

It would be too weird for him to start being nice now, it's not his way to ask nicely or be polite yet. I presume he'll get there with effort and practice. Probably more realistic for him to need to be intentional with working on himself rather than just have the realisation he's an ass one second and the next he's a kind, apologetic changed man. Slow and steady makes sense. So would him choosing to do therapy - just saying.
Yeah I dont like the smut here. Its rape, he's saying no stop, it goes on longer than he wants and I don't care that he comes or if 'he's just saying no but he means yes' he is saying no and to stop.
