It's a yaoi gangster story, main character gets duped by a newbie to the organisation and it ends up getting his whole group killed. He's the only one left and the guy who betrayed him I think kidnaps him, but then he escapes? I can't really remember..
Could also be going to his head maybe? Like, the most powerful person in thr country wants you to tell them what to do, wants to please you, and you alone. You're all they really care about. It's insane but I could see someone having that manipulate them into feeling powerful and important. That it could.be intoxicating and change how you feel. It's a stretch for his character but I can kind of see it.
I'd like to think he's just using that knowledge to get the king to be a good king. Kind like toxin, 'yes, have my ass, but be good or I'll complain about it again!'
Hmm actually felt kinda bad for him in the last bit. It would kinda suck, someone you love will never love you back, they just don't swing that way. That is obviously where it would.end for most people and he just raped and forced to the point his love will never even like him as a friend again... It's sad in a sort of pathetic way.... he's clearly got issues and a personality disorder of some kind.
Ita also disgusting and awful what he's done to someone he claims to love. I'm not on his side in any way, just... so interesting to feel a glimmer of pity.
Honestly when I was reading the novel I felt the same as many of you, Raon was sus to me and the passionate need from Garon is unhimged but hot rhat is ok in fiction but never real life sort of way. My ultimate feelings are wanting Garon to change for MC. That's my toxic trait. I want big nasty angry man to simp for the mc. I don't hate Raonhiljo at all, he's doing lovely things for his love interest. Is it a bit creepy he followed him since he was a young teen, sure! However he has been pretty respectful and the Mc does like him back a bit in that way, he just doesn't think he deserves him and doesn't want to kill him with poison. So yeah...
Ultimately, don't worry everyone, everyone ends up where they should be and all is OK.

Oh also, do kinda love that a lot of the tropes have been taken over by the uke. He saved seme from rape, he is being told to stop saying his name, but he carries on etc I love that he just carried on saying his name. Our uke just seems to not care and yes, does come across like he just likes being effed, nowt wrong with that semey boy! Though you just know that's going to be turned against him. Also pretty sure that's not how he feels but God I'd love it if it was. A uke who is happy with a fuck buddy relationship and isn't heartbroken that the seme isn't being honest about their returned feelings is rare.
I'm happy they're both really professional about it too so far. The uke isn't too in his head about interpreting things which is unique too, he's just along for the dick down. (=・ω・=)
So we have a repressed seme. Clearly has always been gay and liked our mc from that fall and kiss. Overbearing homophobe dad has made him hateful. Obviously he's an adult and could choose to be different, his uncle seems nice so doesn't seem all the family he had was his dad... it's very extreme for someone who clearly is gay.
Onto more technical things, the writing is a little convenient... all seems very contrived tbh. Still enjoyable but feels like the author wants to hit certain scenes but doesn't let them happen naturally and people don't act normally. They just end conversations because the author doesn't want more revealed for example. Worth reading but not the most well written in my opinion.
Seriously losing interest. He hates her way too much, I guess it's getting towards a humiliation kink? And that is not my thing at all. The moisture is intense and the chapters are getting so short and we're repeating everything. Just do the damn sex, and move on with the story! I just don't even know where we're going anymore, he seems to really hate her.

This makes no sense. Her mental gymnastics is insane. GIRL you already slept with him, he's told you he loves you, how awful to then say to him 'I want to just be friends so I don't lose you' honey, if you don't want him as a boyfriend that's fine, but you don't get to keep him as a friend after this. You're not entitled to his friendship, just as he is not entitled to having you as his girlfriend.
I don't think I even understand her reservations since she cut herself off from him because of the rumours anyway, what are you losing that you didn't throw away already? I know it's because we need a plot but this is just a stretch. Could have been centered around working through his jealousy and abandonment issues around her cutting him off before. Learning to trust each other etc not arbitrarily not becoming a couple to drag out the story.
Agreed though, the lounge was disturbing. Feeling that pressure to sleep with someone in a situation you're not comfortable in is awful. Even as a married woman I feel that pressure. I don't go along with it but the pressure to do it and the guilt for not is so unfair. Even though he isn't actually bothered by my saying no, I still feel these things so that scene kind of triggered me.
Urgh, I cried... maybe now he'll think about what he's done to Dan. If he's perfect in this situation, kind, caring, helpful and compassionate, I'll be amazed but impressed. I don't see it going that way though. I think JK needed to suffer longer. He doesn't deserve to know Dan loves him still yet.
I do trust this author, I thought they handled the bj Alex separation very well.
Darling is one of the more cringe ones... babe or honey are easier. Darling had an air of something about it. Don't get me wrong I do call my husband that sometimes but it always comes across ott and a bit sarcastic. Honey is better.
