When a traumatic event happens when you’re a child (or during your development such as teenagers years), and you don’t realize what happened, you can forget it (due to stress/not knowing what to do) and you’ll remember it years later. It happened to a friend of mine while we were talking about consent and they were like “… i think it happened to me (rape), i keep having flashes, more and more often” .
