Me too I low-key forgot, I wished the author didn't have to censor such a good story
In one of the Christmas specials set in the future, He Tian shows up and gives a "pretend" ring to Mo (one that is made of plastic as is probably for kids and stuff)– in the next Christmas specials, as we follow that story, Mo gets drunk and says something along the lines of "where did He Tian go?", not realizing he was talking to He Tian himself, and He Tian proceeds to explain that he "had gone overseas to start a company and take care of Mo".
There is also the scene where He Tian agrees to do his father's biding (in exchange for a favour regarding taking care of She Li), and take part in their ""family business"", even if he'd been fighting against it so far. This trip overseas is most probably because of that (especially since Jian Yi presumably spent his "kidnapped" days in Not-China, and both Jian Yi's and He Tian's father seem to somewhat envolved).
The more specific "when" was given to us this chapter; He Tian has a 3rd year student card, so he made it at least that far. He probably finished HS before being yoinked to do his shady business and whatnot-- but I'm not exactly sure how long it has been *since* he went away. Probably years; enough time to finish university (XiXi went to uni after HS, but seems to have finished it already in the most recent chapters). So give or take 5 years-ish, is my guess.
Ok but cant we talk about how cool it is to have characters with true passions? I love so much how both main characters and secondary characters all have their dreams and try to follow them without letting things get in the way!!!!!
