Very refreshingly plot so far. Even though it is typical push and pull but mysophobic lawyer x bisexual cleaner? Very cute!!! I do wish there was more to explore in what led them to have such strong attraction towards eachother for absolutely no reason I mean Josh only just acknowledged how cleanliness in office has helped him
The plot reminds me of interpretations of RHCP band's for the song with same title. {"These lyrics stir the core of those who understand that relationships—alliances of any kind—are both a risk and a remedy."
"Through this, Kiedis may be hinting at the vital influence of familial connections and its overlaps with our identity journey, as well as the universal search for belonging and understanding."
Flea, the band's bassist, gave his interpretation of the tune in the album commentary, saying: "The feeling I get from it is that it's a love song but it's a special love song because it's not just about loving somebody and how great love is. It's about the darkness of love, too, and the lightness and it's all together and you love it all. And that's the biggest love that there is because you're really loving the things that you don't like, too."}
Also, it reminds me of quick sand since my dumbass thought they're antonyms.
Both combined, my personal understanding is that Wet Sand is about internal conflict, perseverance and at times futile efforts to only sink deeper e.g., joining gangs out of desperation, promoting dependency to keep person around, developing affection because of 'wrong' reasons, leaving gang but still not being able to cut ties, actions out of jealousy, emotional (and physical) manipulation etc etc. All the characters seem aware of things they are doing to other characters (plot point I really love). In one of recent chapter TJ almost confessing to having caused Ian's accident to sabotage him from going only to have Ian stop him from confessing becasue he also knew somewhere in his mind once fish is out of water there is no going back. This seems to be a pattern in their relationship since forever. TJ refusing to let Ian go. Ian still coming back to gang/TJ. Jo knows some darkness is evoked in him and objectively he shouldn't involve with Ian but he is doing it anyway. He tells himself it's fine but then also driven by possessiveness and jealousy. All characters evokes how complicated simplest emotions can be and even working against the 'bad' emotions is not necessarily effective.
At this point all of the characters are trying to navigate these dangerous developments. I think author can build into whatever direction we ought to feel bad whenever it ends and however it ends
Little bit of story is unclear because of slip ups in translation here and there (no shade, thanks for the hard work anyway)
If anyone have idea, please explain
In chapter 2, it seemed like the pimp lady (sorry I haven't grasped anyone's name lol) didn't want eunha to be involved with her son doryeong to save his reputation so she wanted to push her into geisha business asap? But Yongi(?) Obviously doesn't want that. So Pimp lady wants her to be concubine to certain lord or let eunha receive clients??? But then?? Isn't sister already receiving clients and even very admired? Why did she say her body worths half a penny and that it would lose its worth?
In next chapter Lee young is getting abused by I assume that certain lord but he is pissed that she wasn't complying which me made confused because my poor girl seem to be ONLY complying to everything for sake of sister?
I appreciate that eunha has character lol I liked she stood up for her and her sisters freedom by refusing to be slave to ml? Basically stopping cycle of being tied up into prostitution for sake of sister? But then in same chapter he is taking her by force(?) anyway? So choices were never really there?
Also doryeong is an ass he says eunha saved him from becoming asshole aristocract but then he is shitty to bits and only seem to desire eunha sexually? Treated her sister so ruthlessly mentally and physically? And then he strikes a deal that if the sister sleeps with him he'll forget eunha? He also said he'll take the sister as concubine so that eunha doesn't have to work for ml to buy the freedom? But clearly nothing is happening about it?? Because eunha is asking prince to still help?
ALSO IN ONE OF THE CHAPTER PRINCE DUDE LITERALLY SAID THAT EUNHA CAN BE ALL PRETTY DAMSEL IN DISTRESS AND ASK FOR HIS HELP AND HE WOULD? To only choke her soon after saying she has been taking him lightly??? Um? The fuck?
P.S. I was honestly vibing with ML at first thinking that he is just a plotting prince keeping everyone on toes about his agenda, taking in a (female) reader (and it seems that eunha's dad was a reader too and got caught up in politics which is also alerting people), or if he is even blind or not, letting all these aristocracts are in survival mode to keep them away from making political strategies.
He also said to eunha that he didn't handle his pet deer kindly so this time he will handle (her) kindly but bruh the 180? Also deer was killed because this bitch ass prince couldn't tame it??? A deer??? A prey animal?
He seemed like a gentle prince done wrong now he looks like asshole prince done wrong(poisoned to blind which I guess didn't work since he sees fine)
Also one of the panel seemed like he is letting/helping his younger brother take the throne but idk? Also some lady was also killed in one of the panel asking X to be removed from throne since it is her son's right? I thought it was ML's mother but I am confused
