nahhh, just to clarify where i stand— i do see both points here. you're right that jumping to conclusions too fast can feel unfair, especially when the story hasn't shown clear signs yet. but I also think it's fair (and honestly kind of normal) for bl readers like the op to express concern early on, especially since a lot of these stories do eventually introduce rape plots even when they start off fine.

it isn't about assuming every masochist = non-consensual situation, but more about how certain visual or narrative cues often do foreshadow those problematic scenes, based on pattern and history. that doesn’t mean this story will go that way, but i think pointing out the worry isn’t weird it’s actually a form of hopeful caution. we shouldn’t just ignore that bl as a genre has a track record that makes readers wary. i think the op was just hoping that this one breaks the pattern which i backed.
