Not a big deal tbh, but I can see why we are surprised. I’m not used to seeing characters with grey skin/undertones, it’s usually either brown or light toned.

No, I see it so much, so I’m not suprised(looking at you hoyo…) but it’s just so ugly. Like it’s not that hard to give people proper dark skin tones, and some people draw darker people ashy brown cause of racism, so I get why it’s kind of a big deal to some people.

I’ve seen dark toned people in manhuas so I didn’t think too much of it. There’s also characters with different skin that isn’t the norm, so grey wasn’t really something I hate on. I just think of it as something fantasy-like. I’m POC and have dark tone, I get called too dark or tanned by my own people.
When you said Hoyo, I immediately knew lmao. Honestly even this character in this story is darker than their characters combined. I saw the debate and argument with the skin tones there. That is completely understandable, I get where the anger is coming from.
Who can define proper in fiction? That’s my point. Here it’s just a story the author made, we don’t really know if this is a pattern in author’s works. But hoyoverse is literally basing places off reality and the people too, like Sumeru for example, but the skin tones aren’t diverse which is misrepresentation.
Personal opinion, but the top is so damn ugly. His color scheme does not work well at all with each other, or maybe it’s the the way the artist colors in like that glowy type of way, but it just doesn’t work for me…
I disagree, the top is hot and I like the contrast between his dark skin and the light eyes. His color scheme is delicious AF. I agree about the piss colored hair of the bottom tho, and the eyes, too. That color scheme doesn't work imo
ig ur allergic to melanin he is so hot dawg gachan_2772
No it’s not that I promise it’s not that he has melanin (ToT) it’s just that I don’t think the way the author drew his melanin looks good. He looks kind of ashy to me and his skin and his hair just aren’t dark or brown enough. Also, even if you take away his melanin I’d still find him ugly…

The contrast with his eyes are fine, it’s just his hair and skin don’t match. The author tinted his hair a little bit too blue and made his skin a little to grey for my liking, I’m just really picky when it comes to skin color and darker people being portrayed correctly, sorry (◞‸◟)

Now that I adjusted the brightness of my screen (I read at night and my screen is at the most minimal brightness setting), I get what you mean, the color temperatures of the hair and skin could've been more matching.
Why is he grey, like hes not even an ashy brown but GREY
