This sets off chain reactions that causes the Blind Concubine and the Emperor to fall in love with each other...but the Concubine pays the price for this as others target him for having the Emperor’s love.

In the end, the truth comes out and heart break abounds and the Emperor pays the price for his past greedy actions as he realizes who the Blind Concubine truly is and how everything is the Emperor’s fault.

The so-called happy ending is the Blind Concubine being moved to another isolated palace to live out his days while the Emperor watches from afar forever unable to be with the only person he loves.

You could say it's a dream, the book didn't explain about it. Maybe it's his subconsciousness or somewhat the world turns back the time with only Aeroc as the only one with memories. But klop in the second story is not the klop in first story.
