Man, I cry everytime I read the confession scene and all chapters leading up to it. This is so peak, I swear. This is the kind of conflict I want, not the dragged-on misunderstanding or overthinking trope. The kind of conflict where I understand both parties. Def a 10/10, 4th time rereading this and it still gets me

As someone in a relationship, I'd feel the same as Youngchan tbh. It might be the night before the anniversary, but there's still the desire to celebrate it as long as you can. Especially since it's their first anniversary. I know they're working adults, but it's their FIRST anniversary. Like, at least put some effort Hyunsoo, esp you know Youngchan is a romantic. But Youngchan is also at fault for not communicating this clearly with Hyunsoo, though I understand why he didn't want to cuz it was meant to be a surprise. Idk I'm with Youngchan here.

Honestly? I think the stuff with his mom was just the author's justification of him forgetting their anniversary. If it was really affecting him that much, Youngchan would have noticed early on, especially since he's so clingy to Hyunsoo. But if yall think this is in-line with Hyunsoo's character, then it's sad that when he has so much on his plate, their relationship is the first to take up less space in his mind. Just a thought.

i think it mentioned that he has been distant lately no? Not that I’m saying that Hyunsoo action is right, completely wrong if it happened a multiple times but i think it just coincidentally happened (the anniv and the problem)
And in a realistic standpoint, not everyone has a mindset like you, where they can juggle every relationship. I think its a common misconception that if they truly care they will be able to maintain every aspect of their life just fine, despite the external pressures. Diff people have diff way of handling things, kinda need to accept the fact that everyone have different ways of handling it.
For example, some people think its important to celebrate their monthsary,, while others don’t share that belief.
If not communicated there will be an unspoken expectation that would cause the other partner to feel hurt and neglected. Like me personally, its my first time hearing celebrating the night before anniversary.
It’s also quite common for significant stress to impact even the closest relationships, even friends or family.. not just romantic partners

+++ ( think it got cut hahdgs) Its just Hyunsoo ain’t like Youngchan. Every people has their own way of handling things. So you can’t really expect Hyunsoo to react or give like Youngchan. Hyunsoo just tends to inadvertently push people away,,, Like the first part of CH 55.
And tbf the author just showed mostly POV of youngchan,, so it kinda looks like Hyunsoo is doing this for no reason at all. It doesn’t completely show that Hyunsoo is having problems, so the impact is quite bad.
Its just that they’re bad in communicating these, but that doesn’t make them a bad partner
The lap pillow on the flashback— I can't ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Sorry i misclicked
