I think they reacted like that because it's jewelry which is usually expensive, and it's the kind of gift people give eachother on anniversaries or valentines day. However my friends have bought me necklaces before so idk, but for dudes it might be 'weird'

Can I just say that, as opposed to a lot of the comments here, I really like the mc a lot? He isn't a likeable character, and he isn't made for that. He's a complex, realistic character whose fears and anxieties in life/relationships aren't unfounded.
Yes, he makes stupid choices, but that makes a lot of sense--people say you learn from your mistakes but it's not easy as that in real life, especially if you're a person like Min Gyeom, whose fears runs deep down into his veins--because of blood.
I'm glad he isn't an optimistic for nothing kind of person. I find his reactions and actions are all according to what he has felt when he was younger--and I know people think that it's stupid to be so hung up on those experiences, but that's what trauma does to you. It keeps coming back like an unwanted stray, leeching off all your happiness until it sucks you dry. It's amazing how the authour was brave enough to portray that using his shitty decision making skills and his impulsivity to do something without talking it out to someone--shouldering everything and running away, since he finds it the easier choice.
I really love how the authour was able to portray their relationship and both of their anxieties even after the main plot! It gives more depth to their characters and them as a couple! I find their fears realistic and it's comforting, in a way? It's not everyday you see relationshipa being portrayed like this---how arguments can come from past experiences, how fighting can come from misunderstandings and lack of communication. Seeing their fight from both sides' perspective is a great touch! It helps us readers understand their point for saying what they said and doing what they did.
