Agree with you 10000%. I don’t know why the semes all have god complexes. It genuinly feels like there’s a lot of unintentional gender-power dynamics that are written into the characters of semes and ukes that are reeeeaaalllllyyy misogynistic

and then to circumvent this problem, instead of balancing the power hierarchy by bringing the seme down and bringing the uke up. It seems to be a growing trend (that’s glorified as good writing no matter the bl) to just make them both hyper masculine buff men. I’m not saying there is an inherent problem with that but it does invite QUITE A LOT of misogyny. It brings in the hate for uke’s that are feminine. Labelling them as the only root cause to the heteronormative dynamic that keeps popping up, but it takes two to tango.

another thing that perpetuates this is the skinny body type always being paired with the weak uke personality. Then everyone assuming it’s the body types fault and hating on that because of association rather then criticising the personality alone.

Just the amount of misogyny that manages to sneak its way into the bl community ALWAYS baffles and disappoints me.

Preach. Even tho the stories are often told from ukes pov it usually feels like they exists only for the seme. Like you said, the semes usually have a life outside of the relationship, when he’s not on page you can still imagine him existing in the world of the story, while the uke feels like an npc that only activates when the seme is involved or he’s suffering for the plot lol

dohyun is literally head over heels for wooyeon by the end of the novel, and vice versa. not sure where everyone keeps getting the idea that dohyun doesn’t genuinely love wooyeon, lol.

and how do you know dohyun doesn’t have good intentions wtf??? like at least read the novel before saying that lmfao, even in the manhwa currently he’s been nothing but sweet and respectful, the readers know Nothing about him or his past yet so how tf are you concluding that he’s not a good person
