It’s just a theory currently but every detail seems to be leading up to it. Diabel before regression was human but most likely sold his soul and made a pact with a devil to save Ayana/ give her a second chance. And what I’m suspecting is that his imminent death is the reason he’s so hot and cold with Ayana.
