i usually flat out skip any work that starts with dub con/sa/rape etc and develops into a relationship but somehow this doesn't fall into the same category you can tell that the toxicity isn't romanticised rather a product of their unresolved past and a portrayal of their mental instability to say the least i'm really enjoying reading this despite how uncomfortable it's making me feel and ig that's how we should all feel bc what they have rn isn't normal i hope both of them get therapy (as one already does considering the 1st chap) and switch up to a healthier behaviour towards themselves and each other
the way he perceives his father is so fucking relatable although mine wasn't violent physically but the verbal abuse is sickening i always wished he was purely a villain since my childhood bc in the past he was a dad i was proud of but the present makes me hate myself for sympathising with him when he's struggling despite him being an ass to me and my mum i really hope woowon gets a break from everyone's making him miserable he's had enough shit to deal with

it really sucks that our memory is split between redeeming good and a traumatising bad and it kind of tampers with our sense of judgement bc rationally speaking you can't forgive such a piece of shit but the irrational voice is loud at times bc family members are supposed to stick together and we did at some point of our life... i feel like the older our parents get the less prone they are to change since everthing becomes a habit/is normalised with time but at a vulnerable state we're the safest and easiest option to turn to which is ridiculous like how can you pretend everything's fine with just an "i'm sorry" or "it's in the past"... and yes it's a universal phenomenon i'd be surprised every time i hear abt a good parent almost all my friends' fathers in particular are assholes too

i binge read 92 chaps and now i need to check my blood pressure bc WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE IN THIS FAMILY eunchae being a disaster magnet thanks to his hyper naivety isn't helpful either my anxiety cannot handle this my boy needs to catch a break and so do i rn but overall the story is well written (10/10 for drama angst and suspense) and for once the rape/sa scenes actually serve the plot rather than being used for typical other purposes ahum hopefully eunchae's two half-brothers do not end up together or else we be having the same toxic romance trope that i tend to avoid all the time
like don't get me wrong this was fun until the you know what was included in the foreplay but if it's your thing then good for you the fact that i was able to not drop this shows that the author really did a good job showcasing hardcore bdsm to the point that i can turn a blind eye to other things (ahum not so well developed plot) but oh well a 3/5 for me it's new reading experience let's say :]
