I'm so glad I didn't drop this at the beginning!!! I was SO close to doing it because every single character apart from Rachel and Suho was being insufferable, but I eventually warmed up to most of them (like Nayoon, poor girl, I couldn't stand her but she ended up becoming my absolute favorite character). I was also convinced that Suho was going to end up being the classic white lotus/self-righteous og!mc, but he's actually as cute as he seems! I really didn't expect to find bromance here, I love it (although *spoiler* his ending with Hajin made me so sad :((( I really hope he also ends up remembering).
I had such low expectations because of some terrible novel reviews and therefore decided before I even started reading to eventually drop the manhwa, but I just COULDN'T bring myself not to like it, and before I knew it I had binged not only the manhwa but the whole novel as well.
The overall plot and pacing were honestly a mess, especially later in the novel (it often seemed like the author himself didn't really know where the plot was going and started adding random characters and story arcs), and I have to admit that some scenes I highly anticipated ended up being underwhelming or not happening at all, HOWEVER I still had SO MUCH FUN!! I don't regret reading those 400 chapters at all

Sooo what do you guys think about the new chapter? I'm honestly just uncomfortable. VERY uncomfortable. I had high expectations for their dynamic/rivalry at the beginning, maybe TOO high, because how is this any different from all the other toxic BLs that start with rape?? I mean it's not like I wasn't expecting this AT ALL (see for example the masturbation scene at the bar), but I'm still disappointed it ended up as expected... and it wasn't even the usual "rape but at the very least the mc ends up enjoying it" (which is still unjustifiable rape and still disgusting but you know what I mean, at least it didn't hurt), he's clearly in terrible pain here :/
I was expecting them to fight a bit and Rian eventually giving up for some reason, maybe because he wanted to try bottoming for Enzo, NOT TO SEE HIM TIED UP AND VIOLENTLY RAPED WTFFFF
Am I overreacting if I say I want to drop it already even though I was so excited? I can't see this get any less toxic

I really liked the dynamics and everything in the manhwa and surely i desperately wanted and hoped that won't put rape in the story .... Kind of disappointed really.. But still gonna read it so as to see how the plot line progresses. Honestly it is just sad that author's put rape in the story and call it dark romance... In all honesty I would say its just bad writing if putting rape is equivalent of dark romance ...

Exactly, maybe my expectations were so high because of Red Candy. The premise of Uno and Enzo's relationship was clearly toxic (I mean, have you seen Enzo? He's a walking red flag) but I thought "come on, after Red Candy and considering how much the author clearly likes Uno it CAN'T be THAT toxic, right??"

Idk what you were expecting tbh but I was expecting it all..cause like, we're talking about a spy agent and a tyrannical ceo who has connections with the mafia so....yeah ! I'm not saying that it's ok but that it makes sense and that it goes without saying that things were going to be poisonous at some point, like ain't no way their relationship was gonna be sweet like dripping honey or start on the right foot. If anything, when I signed up for this ride I anticipated every plausible scenario, the toxicity included !
And for the people who actually don't really understand in depth that Uno has always been a proud "exclusive" top, it means that "there's absolutely not a chance he was gonna bottom overnight of his own free will" ! So imo, him getting forced into it was one of the forseeable scenarios, alongside him bolting away.
I love it when stories are wholesome and go smoothly without a hitch but i also find it as enjoyable when everything goes wrong before it gets better !
And if the violence of Enzo's actions (throwing Uno from idk what floor into the fountain, the manhandling, the spanking, the getting rid of everyone for his own gain, etc...) comes as too brutal sometimes, it shouldn't be shocking i think, it has always been an indicator of how much of a monster he was. I never thought that Uno matched Enzo's freak btw, Adrian is too mild for him -and Enzo is too deviant- that's why one of the reasons I tuned in for the story is to watch him crumble and get tamed after falling in love ~
Soooo in conclusion, ain't no way imma drop this just because of this incident, if anything, I'm more hyped up after this chapter to witness the shift in their dynamic, that sure must have been a bitter pill to swallow for Uno and I'm sooo ready to see him trigger the chase and make Enzo miserable ! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
All in all, Uno had to suffer the moment he got tangled up with Enzo, and I acknowledged it a long time ago, I just look forward Enzo suffering in return ~
That was my opinion, even if it's not the widespread viewpoint and that we don't see eye-to-eye, I hope we can discuss things amicably (=・ω・=)

I’d understand being uncomfortable, but context and just…reading the room is crucial. This is BL.
One man is quite literally a criminal and shows sadistic tendencies. The cards are all laid out. Simply put, if this isn’t your cup of tea, it’s okay to turn away. But everything seems to be at the right place characterization-wise so I don’t see any issues beyond people wanting a story to conform to their limits of consumption.
Don’t like, don’t read.

I do respect your opinion don't worry, I actually love that you took the time to explain your point of view without insulting other opinions or anything :)
In fact I also read some toxic stories, but in those cases I knew what I was signing up for since the beginning (e.g. when I'm in the mood to read some regret/redemption stories, or when I know that the male lead is actually somebody else that isn't a red flag). In this case I had hope for that particular antagonistic cat-dog dynamic they seemed to have in the beginning, and for them to be at least a bit equal, but it ended up falling into the exact same old trope that 80% of BL authors insert (rape + top that in the end always has the upperhand in every way) so I was left disappointed. Had I known about what would happen before I started reading I would have had lower or at least different expectations regarding their relationship and I wouldn't have been as disappointed. I also realized just HOW MUCH Enzo actually doesn't give a fuck about Rian or his comfort at this point in the story (he's just obsessed with a new interesting toy, ultimately an object, it's not a relationship of mutual intrigue/respect for the other's abilities like I hoped). So yeah, in the end it's partially due to the change compared to what I had in mind ╥﹏╥
I'm dropping this until at least this season is concluded to see if the author has something in mind for Enzo's character

Two things:
1) This is a MANHUA???? WHAAAAT, from the art style and storytelling I would have been 150% sure that this was a manhwa if I hadn't seen the chinese title
2) If this isn't harem (which I hope it is, but due to the fact that the main character is a woman I'm keeping my expectations below 0) I'm not accepting anyone as the final male lead unless it's Miel , I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!

This will be very long, brace yourselves...
This is TOP TIER!!!! The premise is very overdone (child mc, terminally-ill female lead who's originally an extra, etc.) BUT everything else is a breath of fresh air!
First of all the male lead: I don't think I ever saw a male lead with his personality, I usually only see it in female leads' older brothers in other childcare stories. He's an ABSOLUTE MENACE of a brat, but surprisingly not annoying in any way! He's such a cutie, I can understand why his family (and everybody else) dotes on him so much (≧∀≦). Which brings me to another original point: the male lead's and female lead's backgrounds. As some people already said, it's usually always a cheerful and loved female lead 'saving' the traumatized, emotionless male lead from an abusive environment, while here it's the opposite: the male lead is loved and doted on by those around him and is an absolute extrovert who decided to adopt the 'cold-hearted' introvert female lead and heal her, both physically and emotionally. I love this change so much! It completely changes the perspective.
Another character I love to death is Mehen, the female lead's 'mom'. He's such a welcome change from the usual cold father figures who eventually become doting fathers. I mean, it's similar, but his motherly (lol) personality is very different from usual, not to mention the fact that he's not actually what would be the 'main/official dad' (a duke/king/emperor) but only a subordinate of the presumed father who took on the role of raising the female lead. His love for the fl and their emotional connection feels so real and moving! Father-daughter relationships in this kind of manhwas are almost always more comedic and stereotyped, if you know what I mean? I think this is the only one like this other than My Daddy Hides His Powers, my absolute favorite story of this genre.
ALSO, another thing I love is how the female lead's previous life and traumas aren't just brushed off like most authors tend to do. Here, her previous life has a clear impact on her current mental health, and the story will probably focus on her gradually overcoming it. This is another aspect that I only found in very few stories, and it's one of my favorite tropes ever!
I wasn't expecting much but this manhwa really has all I usually ask for in a rofan with a child mc, I'm so sad I can't go binge-read the novel raws as it's still ongoing

I just randomly remembered this manga that I loved like 8 years ago and tried to forget because I couldn't find the continuation. I hate myself so I'm going to reread this and suffer again from knowing I'll most likely never know the ending ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Does anybody know if the official japanese chapters are also published online or if only the physical volumes are sold?
I just realized that it's been a while since we last saw the gangsters :(
I miss them too :( They'll probably reappear since it's in Ijin's neighborhood the happenings now ?
