i think people are saying the first one is creepy maybe bc of how both character's expressions were drawn. kind of unfortunate tbh bc i thought it was nice.

no.... biologists use the term still to describe other organisms with both primary sexual features and intersex is used to refer to organisms who do have both features, but are unable to reproduce. in this case, because the uke is capable of reproduction, he is hermaphroditic.
"“Intersex” is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male." <- it doesn't have to do with the ABILITY to reproduce. intersex is used to describe someone who has reproductive ORGANS or sexual anatomy that is different from the norm. actually there are people who don't want "hermaphrodite" to be used in the medical/scientific fields. some intersex people have reclaimed the word, like other people have claimed other slurs, but A LOT of them absolutely do not want to be called that, i know this from personal experience with a friend of mine. and personally, i would rather stick to what actual intersex people say offends them and what doesn't than doctors who are using medical terms. like a lot of women don't want the word "female" to be used to describe them anymore.

After being abandoned in the mountains by their father two half brothers got taken in by an Inuit. Times turned rough and the older brother became a prostitute to earn money and care for his younger brother. All the while the older brother is waiting for their father to return, while the younger fears that day.
Spoiler for the end: there is a note of incest between the brothers but it isn't explicit. Totally nearly two years pass, the younger brother looses his virginity to a traveling, female hooker at age 16, sending the older brother into a drinking rage. Half a year later their father returns, blind and under the care of a fellow soldier. He is searching for the children. Only after he takes the older brother to bed he realizes that he is the boys father, he falls ill with frostbite and talks to the younger brother, who tells their story and says that he wants to kill their father out of fear or loosing his older brother. After the father reveals his status the younger brother doesn't shoot him and the father commits suicide the next day. The older brother plans to leave and have a common friend take care for his younger brother, but his brother manages to stop him. Happy ever after =)

first of all, that was not bdsm sweetie. bdsm is a consensual act agreed on by both parties, and there is a safe word always established so the sub can stop at any time. i kind of hate that the author dubbed it as bdsm when it was obviously nonconsensual.
