I think uke returned just the pen because that pen like the seme/relationship when they started dating. While I know you hate Ikuo but I think I get his side. After all he was straight, he gets what he wants and he is also a people pleaser. He doesnt want anything complicated too. He had it easy. So when You came to his life He hot all messed up that I think it got him overwhelmed and anxious. Suddenly diving in a serious gay relationship is a very big leap. Anyway this is good!
Soooo I think I said this before but Imma gonna say it again. This manwha Im sorry but is a horrible adaptation of the novel. There are a lot of things that were cut off that would answer all that's missing. I know it is normal that inner monologues were cut off but tbh big chunks of scenes were not included that's why everything does not make sense.
- How Haejin booked the helicopter in advance in the hospital scene
- This is not the first time Haejin met grandma. The first time he had a meeting with her when he was on the run. He asked for her protection from Hwan and he will not show himself to him. The meeting didnt turn out good.
- How desperate Hwan was chasing Haejin the chase wasnt as fact as this. It had a big toll on Hwan lots of details not included
- The reunion scene too it didnt made an impact but in the novel it was soo good.
- When Hwan brought Haejin in the hotel there are mooooore struggles too.
- This part with grandma? She was actually the last conflict in the novel. Here it just looks she accepted but it wasnt like this.There was a conflict too between Hwan and grandma bec if you remember Hwan was raised by grandma to be the asshole that he was.
There's so much more but Im just telling you guys you can read the novel it is like 78 chapters only.
that sounds so much better, i might read the novel. but man, i wished they couldve including all the tiny details, which literally has meaning to the story, instead of watering it down and cutting out some of them
Im guessing something happened to probably the serialization of the manwha or probably the artist coz it was doing ok (both art and storyline) till before Haejin escaped. After that the art already sucks and the story dont follow the novel anymore. Yes that's the term they watered it down to the point that it's already bland lol.

Not all webtoons are adaptations from novels. Not sure about the split but maybe 70% novel adaptations? Take my word for a grain of salt though.
A few years ago, lots of manhwas/webtoons are original works and webtoon adaptations are not as popular. Nowdays, webtoon adaptations of novels have become a lot more popular.
It is great because now all these novels can be enjoyed by a greater and wider range of audience too :D
