You know , one thing I notice in Chinese BL is that there is never a proper flow to things ! The phrase " huh? All of a sudden??! " Keeps popping up in my mind whenever I read these ! I've lost count of how many times it's happened in this BL too !
I think they try to keep it short. Because of so many rules the authors have to follow in China I think it’s hard for them to truly give a flow. I mean I know it’s possible but you know what I mean?

I loved how realistic and down to earth the entire work was ... It talked about so many topics that are considered taboo ( homosexuality, single parenting , divorce , tattooing ) and I could see the real transition of the protagonist ... I mean he felt conflicted with his own thoughts ... Got to know his short comings , tried to address them to himself first ..it was a very meaningful journey !! Thoroughly enjoyed it !!!
P.s I am so glad when they talked about how 2 men married are both husbands!!! For fuck's sake everytime I read any BL or yaoi and the guy goes "I'll make you my wife!" I'm like ... "You dipshit ! He's a man ! How on earth can he be your wife ?! I don't care about your sexual roles ! That's a preference !! (We aren't talking about that ) but learn to call them husbands!! I don't want a heterosexual interpretation to a homosexual relationship !! Please !!

I think what’s happening is that the seme is mad that the protagonist is letting something so trivial (in the seme’s eyes) get in the way of their relationship. Even when they tried to talk it out, it seems like the seme was harsh with his words and made the protagonist feel bad, and because the seme seems a little emotionally detached he felt like this was turning into a “pointless emotional fight” so he just gave up and walked away.
I hope that makes sense? Just what I think from my perspective tho! Could be interpreted in a different way
