I reply to your two comments on this one. First of all, I'm a big fan of yaoi myself, so my point never was that liking yaoi is cringy, but I guess it wasn't clear. I myself waited for some juicy yaoi action in this manga too XD But I also appreciate the story and characters in what I'm reading. I was SPECIFICALLY referring to those who were ONLY about gay sex. Thanks for the tip, but I judged them based on what I saw them doing in the comment section, not my knowledge. The downright unhealthy obsession with yaoi, rating it lower just cause they were feeling "cheated" by the yaoi tag, full-blown ARGUMENT if the yaoi tag should even be on this is honestly disturbing and yeah.. cringe

Like you said, most of the time the author decides to have some sort of redemption arc or spin-off for the side character/asshole character and although sometimes it really plays off well (Ogeretsu Tanaka has a series that's a really good example of this) I get tired of seeing it 'cause most of the time it's literally a character I couldn't care less about or they had hardly any panel time. I just don't see it as being necessary majority of the time and they don't really do anything for me 'cause I've already got a bad impression of them in the first place lol

And that's where a story about an asshole character has sense - when they are interesting characters. Like in the Ogerestsu Tanaka's series you've mentioned. I don't remember his name, but he was intriguing character from the start, so even if I hated him I was still interested in him. But yeah, most of the times those characters are only in the story to be assholes, other than that they have no qualities and I don't care to read a whole story about them and how their childhood/family/society made them the way they are
Is anyone here REALLY surprised that Hikaru did what he did to the MC? Like I saw people saying they were rooting for him earlier or that molesting a drunk girl wasn't in character for him and I just can't believe people only now are seeing what a trash he is. From the moment Hikaru appeared and opened up his mind to us it was clear he is the very defintion of a disgusting, self entitled Nice guy with all the classic comments like "I would treat her better" or "I'm a gentleman" and with treating MC like she belongs to him. So yeah.. stooping as low as to groping drunk girl while she calls out another man name is exactly what I expected from him.

I don't know.. I have a feeling that the mistress could really be that betrayed sister the short-haired girl is taking revenge for. She said she didn't see her face in a while, which implies she possibly would not recognise her. The sister could put herself together, change her image and planned a revenge on her own. Her behaviour is not normal for a mistress and the look on her face is honestly disturbing, like she's not in her right mind. In that dress scene she gave me a real psycho vibe. Like she planned to literally replace the wife and take everything form her, like in her mind she took everything from her in the past. Just wait a minute and we'll see that she replaced the wife's face on that wedding picture with her own xD
