I appreciate the story but I'd just like to say a few things.
Is it just me or do the backgrounds kinda throw you off? The way they're blended together makes it hard for me to tell where exactly they are. Like I know they're inside or outside but it's hard to tell where exactly because they all have the same overwhelming color tones at times and are blurry. Especially in the Duke's place. Everything's all blue and there's so much unnecessary light flares and such?? With the palace as well, where everything's red/pink/yellow. It feels kinda disorientating to me. I'd much prefer if they'd just used solid backgrounds or at least some simpler backgrounds.
I think the moments when their eyes pop out are funny, but they scare me sometimes cuz one eye is big and the other is small. And the pupils go in two different directions at times. This isn't a big tick for me, but I just thought i'd put it out there.
I love Kai's and Alicia's relationship cuz it's the love-hate thing is relatable. But I kinda wish Kai was somewhat taller. He's 11 but he looks like an 8-yr-old or smth.

most drawers prob have assistants to help with background art, coloring, etc. if it's just one person drawing & having to do weekly updates, the background is prob the first to suffer. i noticed all the chibi character designs too, that's another way to save time. then there's also the fact that with the exception of edith, they're all wearing the same outfit. it's a bit lazy, but i'd prob do the same if it were a one person team
