Does anyone feel like this chapter has both Nakyum and Seungho extraordinarily beautiful?
I saw other people commenting about changes in the art on this chapter and it got me thinking that this cannot be coincidence.
Just like when someone is making a movie or editing a story, maybe there is also a way to draw softer or harsher features and lighting to go with the mood of the chapter. It's like adding a certain music to go with a scene.
The mood of this chapter is painful for Seungho but it is also definitely tender between the two main characters, especially the part with Nakyum tending to a sick Seungho.
Seungho is going through some kind of rebirth --- he resisted, tried to fight the feeling, then he hit bottom, broke down, confessed ( although unwillingly ) and now he is literally 'dead' in a way, before he will emerge with the newly found knowledge that he is in love with someone.
However this is not only rebirth for Seungho but for Nakyum too. His 'this cannot be true' face shows everything. Everything that he has ever believed and been told about himself and self worthy has just be disproved. How he emerges from this discovery is also a new Nakyum.
Either way, the obvious implication in here is that love will transform/cure/change these two characters shortcomings ... meaning there is a glow of some kind coming. Just like music and lightening has a psychological effect in people watching a video but cannot be used in here, the author used subtle changes in the art.
I don't know, maybe it's my impression though.

okay but what the fuck with all the talking about Seungho has to drink some medicine even when he is well? What do they mean with Seungho choosing to handle something the wrong way?
Does anyone get the meaning that Seungho has some illness? I thought the tonic was some kind of energetic drink for his sexual marathons but now looks more like he really treats some kind of depression maybe.
And what is that thing about Seungho saying 'again'? Is just figure of speech when we finish a sentence with 'again' ( like what's your name again? ) or was he actually referring to something that happened before?
On a side note, And I don't know what makes sense about Nakyum being 'kidnapped' .... the contract was too kill him, why would the assassin kidnap him? It's not like the plan is to ask ransom or Jihwa asked to torture him. It just nags me that if the hobo assassin could kill the servant so quickly, why couldn't he do the same with NK? I hope the author writes this part okay because details like these are my pet peeve.

On other news, Seungho is so perfectly done and gorgeous looking in this chapter. It seems the author really took the time to draw his features.

His expression and mood swings are still beautiful and for the love of all Yaoi, when did you finally realized that you were reading a rape plot? Because you act as if you were fooled into believing you were reading something else. ... A thriller plot like KS ? LOL.
You made up a story in your head and, despite of all the neon, big fucking letters that this was a rape plot that is meant to have the MCs as pairing, you act as if you thought this was not what you signed for?
What exactly did you miss? The countless official art from the author clueing, very explicitly that this would be a romance? The obvious signs that they author was writing the MCs falling in love?
This is over chapter 55 and you just now realized you entered the wrong forbidden room of a rape plot ?
Let down for whom? You ? The clueless reader who has been reading a rape plot for two seasons and didn't get what they were reading? LOL.
Sorry but you are trolling with your whining in here chapter after chapter and now you troll every shipper post with your nagging.
You are an adult who chose to read a rape plot and despite the story following all the milestones of what you knew it would be, you chose to hang around, mostly shaming readers and shippers because for some reason you think that if you are not enjoying a story --- that you fucking knew you wouldn't enjoy it -- you feel like you need validation.
You choose to read a rape plot and the fact that you can't enjoy the story but also can't stop reading shouldn't be a hassle for anyone else but you.

First of all: you don't need to keep up with the author's social media to stumble on POTN official art. Being one of the most popular title right now, it's nearly impossible to be a reader -- what you are because you are here forever with the same nagging -- and not seen the official art, including ... here. So, I call this bullshit because it's a lie that you don't know that they are officially marketing the MCs as a couple since the beginning.
Second of all: you don't even need to have seen all the 'coupling' official art to know right away and then chapter after chapter the kind of subgenera of Yaoi you picked to read:
- A hot, mean, promiscuous seme who forces a naive innocent virgin to paint erotic paintings for him? check
- The innocent naive painter having erotic dreams about the lord? check
- First sexual experience of the repressed uke is the lord ? check
- The bad wolf rapes the innocent little read hood? check
- The only other possible love partner for the lamb is a conniving dude who doesn't care for him? check
- The big bad wolf starts to providing and protecting the cute uke? check
- The two MCs start sleeping only with one another? check
- The seme is given humanizing traits like caring for the uke? check
- The uke starts feeling attached to the seme protection? check
- check, check, check....
And even if you have the nerve to say that you still was waiting for more confirmation that this was a rape plot, this last chapter should be your exit door then because it's clear the relationship picks up from here.
Then you admitted you knew this was a rape plot 'early on' but at the same time you whine about a 'potential' you assign to it. Which way is it? If it was clear rape plot so what is the excuse of 'oh, it had so much potential' why? because you imagined so? ...so at what point it had the 'potential' you are talking about?
Never mind that 'having potential' is pretty much the same level as the 'let down'.
You created a story in your head and just because the author didn't bend herself pleasingly your idea, then it didn't meet YOUR potential. Clearly, however, the story is pretty much reaching the potential for a lot of readers, mostly the shippers.
It is an interesting story, so much so that even you who are nagging and whining in here since the start can't stop following. It's laughable seeing the very same people who were nagging at the cliche story at the beginning are still posting the same shit clearly showing that they can't stop reading this... the so not 'interesting'.
As per 'unique story', I really have to laugh because the lack of awareness is too much. Yaoi as a genre, with their 'uke' and 'seme' and infinite choices of tropes will never be the place to find 'unique' stories for the very same reason that Yaoi is exactly the opposite of it --- YAOI is a trope on itself. You can have variations to a certain range but pretend you are a serious reader of breakthrough social justice stories in Yaoi is too much of a lauch.
You know what you are going to read when you venture yourself in Yaoi, certainly you can't claim not to know what you are signing up for when you start reading a rape plot.
You can't start reading Shotacon or omegaverse or whichever niche reserved for a specific taste and then whine your way to end about how you knew from early one that it was shotacon but somehow you think it had the potential to be something else. Same goes for incest, rape plot and every other section.
You act like you went to a restaurant, you knew the menu that it would be served and that you wouldn't like the food but even so, just because it was popular or everybody else was in and you didn't want to be left out, you choose to go the restaurant and then complain that you are not getting the food you like.
Does the story doesn't meet your potential? Isn't interesting to you? We are on chapter 55, you endured two seasons of this... at what point then would you put some action on your words and just move on to something you find it's interesting and meets your 'potential'?

Bitches: Choose to read a rape plot Yaoi .
Bitches: Act as if they were fooled and didn't know they were reading a rape plot Yaoi.
When adulthood stopped being about being responsible for own decisions?
Does anyone forced you to read this?
If you don't like it, for the love of your nasty ass, go fucking read something you like it.
There are Yaoi stories in here with healthy cute relationships, pleas help yourself.
Hanging around a story shaming and whining when it was your choice to put in the situation is not woke or mature, it's childish.
Better yet, go read your shonen ai cute stories that are the soft version of rape plot but that are actually aimed at young girls and pretend you are the woke fujoshi who is worried about 'normalizing' toxic relationship.
This is a fucking ADULT fiction like incest, murder, omegaverse, bestiality, shotacon and all the other 'wrong' shit Yaoi has to offer.
Are you happy that you actually can have the freedom to choose what you want to read without the censorship of someone or a Government telling you what is morally right or wrong for you to read as adult?
That is the part that I can't understand on these whining bitches WHO CHOSE to read this. They KNEW what they were signing for. It is not the author's job to hold your hand or the shippers or the other readers.
You don't like the adult stories with a particular non normative relationship? . Awesome. Good for you, you are not forced into reading them.

So true. Especially when they comment on like chapter 50 something and it's like you knew from at least 20-30 chapters ago where this was going. Why are you still here?
It's like just admit the plot interest you and shut the fuck up and read in peace. I can understand if it's like the first few chapters or the first rape scene they are commenting on but some people are commenting on recent chapters as if this is new shit. The manhwa has been like this for months.

I came to realize that these can only be mentally challenged people because somehow they are able to distinguish that readers can enjoy or even ship an incest plot in Yaoi or root for a murderer or criminal in fiction but their mind get stuck on rape plots.
The worst of it is that rape plot are always meant for adults. The crime ( rape) and the audience ( adults) makes the fallacy of 'normalizing' rape a lie. No one in their right mind will ever read one of this and go on thinking that rape in real life is normal. However, check these accounts and they are almost all of them cherishing couples like a He Tian and Mo Guan Shan .... a bully and his victim who fall in love. Real abusive relationships in life don't start with rape but every PSA directed at young teens starting their romantic life describes a He Tian. Still teens and even adults alike really think that rape plots aimed at adults is the danger but stories like 19 Days are the cutest thing.
Go argue that 19 Days and Tianshan with a Mo Guan Shan falling for the boy who beat, stalks and controls everything he does is way more dangerous because the abuse is not easy to see than a rape plot made for adults.
But they feel so much mature hanging around here lecturing shippers on the morality of shipping a fictional Seungho x Nakyum.
They choose to read this, knowing very well it was a rape plot and then act as if they had picked some kind of educative material.

I don't know but it seems that English speaking readers may be missing a lot with translation.
There is a scene in 53, that is when Seungho is walking outside when he was taunted by that snake fella ... he was supposed to get NK but seems more like he is lost in thoughts and he is remembering Nakyum's sleeping face. The English version says ' We are just naked bodies, there is no need for us to share what's in our minds'. It seems the original translation would be something like 'We are simply flesh. I do not have to share my heart with someone ..." what is way deeper in showing Seungho's long trained brain into avoiding affection. This is the chapter where we find that all those thoughts we saw in chapter 49 of someone rationalizing about only following their desire because that's what fits them... everybody thought was Nakyum but it was Seungho's instead.
It's a shame because we almost never get to see Seungho's thoughts in the story and when it happened, the chapter had a completely different tone because we thought it was Nakyum putting himself down again but it was meant to give an insight on Seungho's way of life and relationship and why he instinctively turns to rough sex whenever Nakyum tries intimacy and 'share his heart' with him. Then when we do get to know clearly that it's Seungho's thoughts, we lose a lot of depth because of the translation. Seungho setting himself up for a life of meaningless sex and lack of love ('I don't have to share my heart') is quite sad on his own way.
I wish we get to see a good translation of chapter 49 inner dialogue.

Ohh excellent comment! My understanding is limited to English (thats not even my mother longue, so lol) so it's always a pleasure to know something about the original version.
But still, I like this english version because (in my opinion) it fits well with Seungho's character. When he says - "I don't have to share my heart" it feels like he knowledges he has feelings for Nakyum at that moment and I don't think this is true. I feel like the meaning of "I don't have to share my heart" is veery close to the idea of "sharing your mind" in the korean language, maybe it's an expression. It's not literal, such as in english when people say "you have to know this phrase by heart", they're not literally talking about their heart.
For me it doesn't make sense for Seungho to say that, he doesn't even knowledge Nakyum is special to him rn. hmmmm

Does anyone knows any link or accounts for Spanish scans?

Chapter 42 will probably be uploaded next month.

I really loved this chapter but I have a pet peeve for details ....
it would be perfect if Seungho had bruises on his knuckles. No one gets to beat up two guys like that, one of them with such strength that knocks out his teeth and don't end up with their hands bleeding as well or at least badly bruised.
Of course, this detail doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the chapter, especially the story we get from watching Seungho's face expressions along these two last chapters. Too bad Nakyum idea that 'I am just a prostitute for him' is so ingrained that he can't see in all the time he spends with Seungho what Min could catch in just a few interactions.

Real Character Development is not based on our personal taste.
People, can you please stop with 'no character development' shit?
Just because a character doesn't 'develop' on the pace and way you wish, it doesn't mean that there is no development.
And I'm sorry, this is not even a matter of opinion, it is a fact.
You can say though that the character X or Y is not developing fast enough for you -- fine but taking YOUR standard and filter and then declaring that in two seasons, 54 chapters there is no character development because the character is not behaving according to a romantic idea of what you wanted them to be doing at this point is frankly dishonest.
Every chapter I read, my fear is that the author will cave to whining readers and totally bungle Seungho and made him out of character just to please readers who can't stand that they are not getting what they want fast enough.
For Fuck's sake, re read the story from start if you need and if you don't see the logic and the very careful development IN CHARACTER as it should be for Seungho so, I'm sorry, the problem is not the story, it's just that you insisted on reading something that it's not to your taste. There is a solution for that.
Last for not least, I LOVED THIS CHAPTER! Loved that Seungho tried to challenge himself with the orgy and failed. He couldn't do it and he is running out of escape routes to deny that Nakyum is, like Min said, a precious thing he can't share it.

If they changed him that fast it would be unrealistic and feel rushed...the authors pacing is great! It just feels especially draining for us because we wait every week. The pacing is actually great and for people who read in the future and binge when this webtoon is complete it will be nice for them

EXACTLY. It’s even worse when these people who don’t even support the author creating the story criticize her personally and call her a shitty writer or a bad storyteller and call the entire work itself “trash”. Like, I’m sorry you’re apparently just so stupid that you didn’t pass English class to learn what the elements of a good story are and that most require you to actually think and analyze. The meaning or development of something will not always be obvious. This is why it’s an ADULT manwha.

I REALLY REALLY author nim doesn’t get influenced by the fans trajectory on what they want future Seungho to be, its not natural for him be so romantic after so little character development it’s realky not... what means Seungho is his spontaneity and psycho side. Just because he’s the seme doesn’t mean he has to be the best treating one to the main Uke

As always, everything is so perfect.
Best part of it:
"So you remember me then"? ( and it seems he calls Yashiro 'Kashira')...
Oh snap, Doumeki grew bold and subtly calling out Yashiro's lie before that he had lost his memory.
Even Nanahara felt the tension 'Oh shit..'
Yashiro must be trying his hardest here to pretend indifference and try to gain control.
And then the previous 'How I live my live and what I become is mine to decide. It's my time and my body.' Doumeki isn't a little bird anymore.
Bolder, sexier, stronger. Game over, Yashiro.
There is a new piece of art by the author going around. Seungho resting on Nakyum's lap holding his hand while looking up at Nakyum with a peaceful face.
I think the author is always so explicit in promoting the shipping of Nakyum x Seungho and that' one of the reasons I have no doubt they are meant as end game and although we are expected to see a lot of drama yet, side characters working against them, I have no doubt this will end with both of them happy together.
its the Taiwanese vol 2 official art for POTN
Please tell me where can i see this art?
If you look for POTN tags in Tumblr,(#painter of the night, #seungho x Nakyum, etc) ... it's the easiest place to stumble on it.
