The story of them getting together was in the beginning and the main question was “how can a titan and a human co-exist with one another” and literally the point of this chunk is to answer the damn question to see if kouichi is worthy of having the title of the “bride” and to get the titan on the throne where he belongs. I think that kouichi did sacrifice his life and it is kinda unfair but at the same time he literally chose to go down that path, knowing the consequences of both him staying with the titan or him going to his world, he knew what would happen and chose to stay. Plus he knows how much the titans value loyalty and whatever else he studied about. I do agree that they keep going in circles with the egg but I mean if this was paced a little better and there was an update every day instead of every month, I’m sure lots of ppls opinions about the egg wouldn’t be so brutal lol
this whole thing has dragged on for so long i dont even remember what the point of him doing any of this is anymore lol also thinking back on this after all this time its pretty messed up that they took him out of his world by force saying hes the only one who could possibly marry caius who at that point everyone made it seem like only caius could rule and none of this other stuff was a thing and now after the mc has chosen to stay suddenly he has to prove himself even though he was dragged into this
maybe this is just the blurry synopsis i remember of this story because this arc is so unnecessarily long everything thing is blurry and full of useless characters point still stands tho really seems like forced conflict that shouldve actually happened in the beginning then that first part where he decides to really stay and save caius happens near the end and the whole baby thing could come after thats how i feel like mapping this story together would've worked better
