The reaction of their friends, especially Becky—Girl! But more than anything, Damian and Anya are dang hilarious, adorable, and precious at the same time.

well the reason to that is her power something kinda forgot what it's called. she was the one who inherited the "power" which is past through generations etc etc. its kinda stereotypical.
It can’t be the other way around cuz all the etusians(can’t spell) are cursed so they can’t take over the head position, so their wives usually do.
They can't because of the curse. Also every generation can only have one son because of the curse too. So they can only opt out to make the bride the leader.
