it's nice to have insecurities laid out bare and still be accepted and worked out with
a pretty heavy read, but it's really good when setting up all the political, financial, and family relationships up
if you're here for fluffy romance, you might want to skip out on this for a bit
currently a one-sided romance, but god it's such a treat when one person is already steadfastly in love with their love interest, and you see how they slowly come to realize their actual feelings
heavy helpings of dub-con, but is covered up with a mountain of fluff
if you're looking for plot or a story where the characters act like they have brains, don't look for it here lmao
cute couple tho if you can make it past the first few 'no means yes' type situations, they have chemistry which is more than what could be said for other pairings
This is such a masterclass of storytelling
The growth, the realness of it all. I regret not being able to read this for the first time again.
sure jaekyung is an asshole, but im sure as all hell that when you get approached by the enemy team and get offered something like that, you sure as hell report that back that type of interaction
what's currently frustrating me is that dan doesn't seem to have any agency over the plot, things just 'happen' to him, he gets forced into a corner and cowers until another thing makes the decision for him
all these comments about mc restraining humself, while i'm out here squealing about getting picked up like they weigh NOTHING!!!! that's so sexy?????
it's insane that i'll be the same age as them in 5 years too
it hurts how real this all feels? we can sit here and judge the characters for doing something stupid cause we have the advantage of hindsight and omnipresence, but the way they were written opens up the same wounds i got from previous relationships
the fear of slowly falling out of love with someone, or how the things you've loved about them are now the things you hate, being in a relationship that makes you feel spent and tired and empty after every fight
hopefully, anyone who reads it finds comfort in the fact that they're not characters in a story where everything follows certain tropes or story structures and that you will find the love that'll make you feel like you're enough as a person :)
It's about a fake love triangle, where the childhood best friend and the "rival" get together
Childhood best friend has glasses and is a bit gloomy, uses it to hide his attractive face
it's so funny to me how mc just thinks about it for a bit and was like "yeah I'm into men too ig"
Any recs in any genre that's completed? Preferably published within the last 5 years, but if it's really good I'm ok with older ones
I genuinely love the trope of the 'bitch' archetype becoming friends with the FL. I eat that trope right up.
First off, this is a genuinely well-written and well-paced series. You will have little to no regrets in reading this. I genuinely enjoyed my time reading it.
With that all out of the way, read this if you're a fan of slow burn without all the pesky side drama that comes with it. It's a fake relationship premise, but all the drama regarding misunderstandings and past baggage gets resolved quickly. That could be a pro or con, depending on your tastes. It doesn't frontload a lot of drama, so at specific points, the plot feels too easy, so take that as you will when you read it.
