I've 2 problems with this manga
1. the MC is a little stupid/weak and she acts like a heroine of some webtoon like what we're used to seeing, she recalled memories of her past life as a kid and still lived a miserable life until a man saved her and even then, her thoughts were just like a child's which is kinda weird
2. Emiel x Estelle is disgusting as hell, he knew her as a child and ik yall are gonna make up some excuse but according to ch 69 during that fight, that blond haired (idk his name) says that he acts like he's the only one that loves her, and I'm thinking he's loved her even when she was a teenager so this ship is just plain disgusting and I've got no prejudice against age gaps unless it'slinked to pedophilia ("iT's jUsT FiCtiOn" does mean it isn't weird)
I just remembered why I dropped this in the first place.. there's no good ML, the brother's her brother obviously and the prince is crazy/weird so this webtoon kinda sucks

Additionally just as easily as this could suddenly progress into a relationship, we can slow burn right into adulthood with a romance plot that takes 10 more years idfk

This novel moves back and forth from present time to past a lot so yes there is a flashback (ch 30-44) of everyone back when they were all 15 yo. Juniors from all the prominent sects were sent to study in the Cloud Recesses for 3 months and that's where everyone met each other for the first time. i.e. where Lan zhan and Wei Ying met. A lot of stuff happens and everyone (Jiang Cheng, Jin ZiXuan, Jiang Yanli, Wei Ying, Lan Zhan etc) all go through a lot of shit together but especially wei ying and lan zhan. They have a real (rocky and non-romantic) relationship in the past. Then more stuff happens and Wei Ying dies then (13 yrs later i.e. current timeline) he is reincarnated into the body of Mo Xuanyu when Mo Xuanyu summons him with that ritual we see on page 1. Wei Ying (in his new body) immediately recognized Lan Zhan There'll b more flashbacks (like a lot actually fyi) anyway I hope that helped? If anything else didnt make sense I'll try to help out

I don’t think you can assume that. Maybe in the future there will be a back story that could explain more of her perspective. It could be that she saw her family doing wrong and decided to help him because it was the right thing to do. It may be like you say but there isn’t enough of the backstory to say she did it all for a man.
