You have to understand that most of these webtoons are adopted from the webnovels and chinese authors get paid by wordcount. A lot of them run up to 2k+ chapters and because the romance novels have shorter chapters, several hit 4k or even 6k+. Authors will drag plots that can be solved in 10 chapters to hundreds or even thousands of chapters later. It takes a looong time to resolve conflicts. Even summarizing the novel will be quite lengthy. So if some scenes feel shallow, rushed, confusing and cringy, it really can't be helped. There's a lot to get through.
