can someone tell me if the FL has her own over-arching plotline or if this is more about her helping others?
There are hints of her past being revealed somewhen in the story (bits and pieces are already known), but those hints are really sparse… I’d say it’s more about her kicking ass ;)

MC has been abused and neglected all her life bc she’s an illegitimate child (of the king). ML is the crown princes cousin and marries her to form a connection and peace between the 2 kingdoms.
He seems to have fallen for her but doesn’t treat her w the love and respect she deserves. after marrying him, she’s still treated the same by most and he doesn’t rlly realize or know how badly but regardless he’s trash. i’m pretty sure he doesn’t rlly realize his actions or his love for her bc he’s traumatized by his past. it’s not excusable or that understanding imo tho
MC is already physically weak, so having a child is very taxing on her body. he doesn’t rlly take notice abt her condition except that she’s getting skinnier. he also wanted her to birth the child so she stays “shackled” to him and won’t leave ever again.

I think you haven't read the novel correctly. Because she fools him into believing SHE is in love woth him and wants his love. He was already in love with her. He only understood the extent of it in the war arc. However, his actions are forever inexcusable. He is a rapist and a cheater.
Thats why I said she tricked him into loving her. When she didn't actually love him,it was an delusive idea. And yes she forgave him for the grape and cheating when they were hiding in the basement mid war ,I did read the novel correctly.
You have phrased it wrong again. She never had to trick him into loving her. He was already in love with her. His desire turned loved long before she even said the word love. He confessed in war arc that he loved her so he'll let go of her.
