he wanted to sold off his sister( Laura's mother) as asset for oppoturnities in the past but she ran away, then after she passed away, leave behind her daughter to his mother- whose he claim to play favorite toward his sister( of course because the madame doesn't want to spend all her assers on him). So Laura might look like a solid evidence for his past's failure ( to maked money from sold off his sibling); she even look like her mother whom he hate,
it's true that cesar thinks in his own twisted way that somehow he's helping ruby but in reality he's really only helping himself bc he's desperate to keep her. it seems like somewhere between 123 and 124 is when ruby was possessed by FL. that's why she doesn't remember saying she loved brother the most. it's pathetic he is this desperate without realizing she's literally not the girl he loved. i feel more for cesar than i expeted tho.
He hasn’t realized it yet, he snapped just because poor Ruby forgot a silly promise which was made when she was far younger. Also C*sare took in in an ugly way, she meant to stay together forever as siblings but he thought she meant smth else and was also blushing over his 15< yo sister when he was 24. I cannot possibly feel anything for him, these 4 chapters didn’t change shit in my judgment abt him because he’s disgusting and is in love with his minor sister
