I hate the trope where the savvy one doesn’t warn the naive one that a supposed friend is actually a manipulative psycho to “avoid hurting their feelings”. It just leaves them vulnerable to harm and makes an easily resolved issues go on forever.
MC is stupid and self centered:
1. Why tf would you even talk about that incriminating shit when your partner is in the next room?!
2. Mc had a golden chance to claim ignorance since he is on record as having amnesia, was bodyswapped, and genuinely had nothing to do with the plot.
3. Should have talked about having kids with his husband instead of slipping him the morning after pill (wtf?). There are plenty of reasons to delay getting pregnant, since MC is supposedly still recovering from the accident. MC could have said he discovered the plot but needs to investigate what’s true before bringing a kid into it.
4. Not apologizing or sat least trying to explain yourself is crazy.
5. Saying “we belong to each other because I imprinted you” and then locking yourself in their room when they try to leave is never going to be received well.
6. MC was more concerned with keeping his spouse with him than comforting or speaking to him to at least try to resolve the situation
7. Had zero respect for his spouse’s thoughts and emotions and tried to physically and emotionally trap him

While I’m glad Rutger turned her down (seeing as she basically has the mentality and reasoning of a child right now), his entire rationality was stupid and self centered. He knows how desperate Leoni is to get her kids back, but I don’t buy that “let her be born of love” crap. The kid’s soul already exists, is fully conscious, is astrally lurking inside Leoni all the time, and specifically said “I want to be born asap”.

It would be one thing if he was concerned about Briana being considered a bastard, or legitimately felt uncomfortable sleeping with someone he wasn’t in a relationship with, but that’s not what’s going on. What he’s essentially saying is “the kid you love who is waiting in limbo can’t be born until I am convinced you are in love with me”. That’s the bs. I am so sick of this creepy micro trope in fantasy romance webcomics where a small child vehemently and obsessively attempts to get betrothed/married to the adult male lead. It’s fucking weird and unnecessary. It adds nothing. And I have never seen this trope in reverse where a bratty boy child tries to marry an adult woman. Not that it isn’t equally concerning either way. Any of the drama and plot developments brought on by this trope could be brought on by a normal crush from another adult, especially because the stories will (99% of the time) just gloss over how weird and concerning that is, presumably under the assumption that it’s an old timey world so obviously that shit must be normalized since nobody is batting an eye. It’s just not necessary and adds nothing of value to the story
