a coming of age story about a girl who moves to the city. my favorite part of this manga is the depth of which these characters have their own interiority - the assumptions they make about each other, the way their internal logic manifests into their behavior, the insecurities they project onto each other. this is a manga obsessed with the ambiguity of human relationships, and it’s easy to binge the entire thing with how charismatic the cast is. 10/10

after the evil demon is defeated and the adventure is over, the hero’s party parts ways. frieren, an elf, outlives them all, and retraces the steps of her old adventure in order to retrace the foreign emotions she feels towards her comrades. such a beautiful manga that has a lot to say about grief, the passage of time, and the connections that bind us… easily 10/10

+ that toxic gay little twist is everything to me.
+ the pacing of the beginning is so good! really makes you want to see the charas reunite once more

+ pacing got kinda sluggish after the initial plot point got resolved
