What was that? Reading this shattered me. It had the potential to be one of the most incredible reads, yet somehow it veered so far off course it’s now beyond saving. I can’t believe it ended like this. Is this really how it all wraps up?

While I get that the ML is mentally ill, it doesn’t magically excuse the complete circus this story has become. There’s zero direction, and the plot points are tossed around like confetti, with no real attempt to tie any of it together. The MC? Possibly the dullest, most grating character I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading, and the ML is an unhinged mess of ‘who thought this was a good idea?’ It feels like the author’s strategy boils down to sprinkling in a vague mental health theme, tossing in some steamy scenes, and hoping the hot characters will somehow mask how terribly this webtoon is crafted. I gave it a second chance, dropped it, and thought maybe it would turn around after 90 chapters. But here we are, still knee-deep in the same shit hole. You can sense the desperate reach for depth, but it’s like watching someone flounder in shallow water. I get why people are still drawn in—trust me, I can be superficial too—but even my patience has limits, and this one just hit them hard.

It’s been ages since a story has drawn me in so entirely. The plot is not just intriguing; it’s masterfully crafted, with layers that engage both the mind and heart. The characters are so richly developed, almost as if they transcend reality. The writing has this magnetic pull, urging me to keep reading, page by page. I’m genuinely captivated and can’t wait for the next season to continue this incredible journey.
Where did the suspense go? I wouldn’t mind if this story was purely romance, but we all know it promised more than that. With each new chapter, my disappointment only grows more and more.
I think Sentarou is the father because of what happened during his conversation with Touma after they visited the grave. Sentarou was clearly frustrated that Ririko hadn’t asked him for help, especially considering the difficult circumstances she faced during her pregnancy. Touma later recalls his final conversation with Ririko, where she sought Sentarou’s address and expressed her desire to see him. This interaction provides two important revelations: Ririko had wanted Sentarou’s help, and she likely knew he was the father of her child. The latter revelation was solidified when Touma, reflecting on the conversation, turned to Sentarou and quietly said, “It’s you.”
Touma’s decision to withhold this information is, in itself, the proof that Sentarou is the father. If Touma had simply kept quiet about Ririko seeking Sentarou’s help, knowing full well how frustrated Sentarou had been about not being asked, it would have been cruel—especially to someone he clearly cares about. But Touma’s silence reveals a deeper motive: he knows that if Sentarou learned about that final conversation with Ririko, it would confirm that Ririko herself likely knew Sentarou was the father. Touma is sparing Sentarou from carrying the guilt of not being there for Ririko during her pregnancy, which she endured alone before she died. By withholding the truth, Touma is trying to shield Sentarou from further pain and complications.
With Ririko gone and the baby, Megu, already under their care, Touma appears to believe that keeping Sentarou in the dark is a kinder option, allowing him to live without the weight of this painful truth. In this way, Touma’s decision reflects a belief that blissful ignorance is preferable to the potential complications that the truth would bring.
Also, I can’t believe it took me this long to realize, but Megu looks exactly like Sentarou—like, exactly. Just with a completely different personality, of course. Honestly, how did I not notice sooner? Haha.
I’m not sure where to begin. Is it just me, or has the quality of this story taken a sharp decline? It started with a sense of mystery, drawing us in through subtle storytelling—showing rather than telling. Now, the writing feels overly narrative and descriptive, abandoning the nuanced approach that made it so compelling. I even considered this one of my top 10 reads when I first started, but as the plot unfolds, I’m honestly questioning that decision, feeling a bit embarrassed for having ranked it so highly so early. The uniqueness of the characters and the plot makes this all the more disappointing. It’s frustrating to see the potential being squandered by such a drastic shift in storytelling.
Lemme borrow from the wise Chappell Roan,
“It’s cliché, but who cares?” Hahaha. I’m gonna be a sucker for this trope no matter what.
FINALLY ENDED MY FEW DAYS BL FAST AND WALKED INTO 20 WEBTOON UPDATES HAHAHAH. Anyways, Doha, man, you’re hurting me here. You really need a high five on the face. T.T
I didn't want this story to end! The character development was outstanding, and the plot was intensely captivating. The storytelling was superb. However, I felt that certain key elements, like the reincarnation and its underlying reasons, deserved more attention. The characters should have had the opportunity to explore and discuss these aspects rather than skimming over them.
While it was understandable that Officer Soh prioritized solving the crime immediately after reincarnation, addressing this pivotal event now that they’re moving forward together would add depth. Otherwise, it risks feeling like a narrative shortcut rather than a fully developed storyline.
One intriguing idea is that the author could make a connection between the reincarnation and the animals that were killed. Perhaps the animals, having met their untimely deaths, were responsible for giving our leads the chance to solve the crimes committed against them by granting them the opportunity to be reincarnated. This could be tied to the lore of cats having nine lives, suggesting that these animals used their remaining lives to aid in seeking justice. Such a connection would bridge the gap in this essential plot point. With that addition, this story would undoubtedly be a perfect 10/10.
Uke-san, it's only chapter 35. I'm afraid you've got a long way to go and plenty of suffering ahead before winning his heart. Haha, my apologies!
I’m not creative enough to craft a redemption arc for this train wreck. Haha. It's either SY throws in the towel in sheer defeat, or we all wake up from a fever dream where Jihwan isn't responsible for this nonsense. Haha.
Uke, how about start asking your robot-kun to not call you master. Haha I think that’s a good first lesson about humanity. Hahaha
17 webtoons just updated for me all at the same time ahaha glad to see this one on the list. I hope we get to see more of their relationship blossoming.
