Not only that but this type of death is really common and he was gone through this 99 times so it's normal he have a tough skin for this type of situation, plus they are in the beginning stages witch means less deaths since it's still considered easy. And he already was going to boss in full speed, when he saw the boss to blond guy was already dead and he was still far. So even if he wanted to save them he couldn't arrive in time to save the others.
