Wait so like .. incest or nah? ( ̄∇ ̄")

Different cultures are more touchy-feely than others. Though I do agree that it is odd in this context as most Asian cultures as less physically affectionate towards loved ones. When I was a kid I used to kiss my parents goodnight on the cheek (I'm Asian living in a western country). Looking back on that now, I can tell that my innocent actions bewildered my parents . They would kinda be at a loss on how to react, no praise/reciprocation nor disapproval, just awkwardness. Of course I'm generalizing here, as some Asians are more exposed to western media than others and it depends on country and age.

I do agree that the issue of potential birth defects is an important factor that doesn't affect gay incest relationships. However in the case of gay incest (no kids involved) I think certain cases (even in the event of no blood ties) are unacceptable. If there is an uneven relationship dynamic - for example (Father and an adopted son) you get into the same situation which causes us as a society frown upon student-teacher relationships.
I can only tolerate brothers of similar age -and in the case of a real father-son scenario- only if the father never raised the son (and didn't view him as such) and the son isn't yearning after a missing parental relationship (if he is raised without a step-dad). The only scenario that works is if they both get together long before they are aware of the other's identity (and the son doesn't already hold a long-held father complex). Just my two cents (●'◡'●)ノ

It gets confusing yup alot and some people have limits when it comes to this sorta thing...but the limits are set by other people to. Yup go ahead and throw your 2 cents in I have problems with it sometimes....like if its forced or something.....no way Jose. I cant deal with full on rape stuff even if they sorta consent or kinda want it I still get kinda freaked out. and no S&M stuff either. Its even worse if there related because your supposed to love and protect them. So thats sorta why its freaks people out with the whole incest thing because they see there families and cant imagine it well....but with kids growing up and dealing with it, it can be the norm.....like how I didnt realize how fucked up my family was until I was like 14-15 because its the norm. So it does not feel to strange to deal with it for the MC in angas like these....he has no idea where the line is because one was never drawn in the first place.

"Its even worse if there related because your supposed to love and protect them" totally agree!
On the issue of consent in general, our complaining isn't going to have much of an effect. The issue is so prevalent across all types of Asian media and usually shrugged off as "Oh she is just too shy/ashamed to admit she likes him (he/uke in the case of yaoi), and look! They fell in love in the end so we were right!".
After racking my brain over the issue, the only conclusion I can come up with is that people want to imagine that the other party is innocent/untainted and if there is even a hint that they enjoy it, then they are less desirable since they shouldn't enjoy what they haven't experienced before.
Since they can't show both parties mutually lusting after each other, we get these cringe-worthy scenes where the audience should interpret "No!" as "Yes! - but I'm too shy to say so" It sucks because otherwise hot sex scenes are filled with awkward "No!"'s such as: "No! not there! No if you do that I'm gonna cum! No don't pull out!" Arrghhh!!! make up your mind. And thus we as readers conflate these meaningless "No!" scenes with genuine rape scenes where "No!" really does mean "NO!!!" Kind of minimizes what is happening.
** Man I'm going so off topic from this manga sorry!

It's because in Japan and other Asian areas people usally dont say no I think....something with that I think........ I've heard that in alot of places when someone says yes they can mean no and maybe it works vice versa there to? But if I'm saying no then you better GTFO or I would bite you if I had to. Bitch lol I would go crazy on yo ass if I was about to be raped I would scratch bite kick hit I would be fighting the whole time. It gets confusing but we can usually tell if it is one of those scenes usually the uke is like blushing and seems to enjoy it. But yea it's confusing as hell.

Hmm maybe you are right. My language structure is somewhat similar where we do have a standard reply that does mean "yes" however just like mine, I'm sure Japanese do have phrases that mean "no!" or "stop it!" as well, but are perhaps used rarely. Hopefully someone else can fill us in?

Adding to this Japanese people and some other Asian people aren't very direct. They really beat around the bush which can be frustrating to people involved in international business. For example during business meetings you don't automatically reject someone's proposal, you praise the good parts, suggest what can be improved then explain why the other proposal would be better (wastes soooo much time). That way the other person doesn't lose face (feel shamed in front of others) and everyone's ego is intact.
Now I can imagine how this may affect situations of dubious consent where the victim will try to softly reject the rapist (yes it sounds odd having the victim trying to avoid hurting the rapist's feelings), to which the rapist interprets this as victim being too shy and needing a final push to get to "yes".

I must say I appreciate growing up surrounded by two distinct cultures. You can compare the pros and cons of each. And even if you disagree with some aspects of each, you learn to hold back immediate condemnation because usually there is a reason behind why things are done/interpreted that way. It's OKAY that I don't agree with it, but at least I understand. ( ̄へ ̄)

I originally came across this as a one shot, merely the first two chapters or so and I adored it then. It's been so many years and now I've stumbled upon this once more, thrilled to see it update and be a long series... but only to find out the mangaka passed away before this was completed. This is perhaps, the sixth author I adore that died before their work completed. I am crushed, but still thankful for what we have now. Let amazing work like this serve as a reminder for what we've lost.
When the wife is actually the husband, yassssss. I approve, 10/10. I want penetration next chapter!! And as others have started, shipping the butler with the mercenary friend ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ (who I hope isn't a third wheel)
I love the way you phrased that. "The wife is actually the husband" XD It sounds like the punchline to a sitcom XD
