I've never seen a rape scene that disturbed me more than this one. I've seen a lot of rape scenes in manga and I'm already kind of used to it because I've seen it so many times, but something (I'll explain what) about this scene is just so terrible and it disturbs me.
First of all, some people don't see this scene as rape. I've read down the comments about someone saying "If you always had to say it to be consensual that means my boyfriend raped me every time we had sex." or something, and they are right. Consent doesn't always have to be verbal, but for that you need trust. You see, a relationship is all about trust and communication (any kind of relationship), so...
1. If you have a partner, you usually don't need a verbal consent. It's because you trust each other and you understand each other. You talk about stuff together (communication) and you begin to understand and (trust) each other. That's how it should work. Most of the relationships don't last because of either lack of communication or of lack of trust (or both). That's why, if you 100% trust your partner and you talk with them, you both understand each other so you don't need a verbal consent to understand.
Also, some people need to understand that there is a playful "No" and genuine "No". I've seen a lot of playful "No" scenes, and this isn't one. You can see genuine fear on his face and he really tries to run away. The only reason he doesn't is fear and shame and you can see it all in his eyes. (which is the first thing that says that this is rape and even if it wasn't it wouldn't be a nice one because of other things).
2. Even if the person isn't your partner, you still need communication. Even if a hook up both of the people know what each other wants and that's enough for it to be consensual.
3. Some people say that "He enjoyed it, therefore it's consensual." and that's the stupidest thatI've heard (no offense). The body is always gonna feel good at another person's touch, that's how our body works, therefore you should never compare consent with pleasure because they are 2 different things. If a person doesn't want to have sex and someone is not listening to them, that's rape and there is nothing else to say about it. Of course, the other person will feel at least a little bit of pleasure, but that doesn't mean it's consensual.
4. I believe that many people don't even believe that men can get raped which is also stupid. Rape is rape and gender shouldn't even be in the question. Yes, usually men are stronger than women, but they are human beings and they can get scared too. They could be drunk, drugged, or even asleep too which is also rape because they don't even know what they are doing and they can't think clearly, meaning that they can't think if they want to do it or not. Also, men can be stronger than other men, therefore a man raping another man isn't a new thing too. Whoever thinks that men can't get raped is just immature or a sexist.
5. Also, if it's your first time and you aren't ready, but your partner tells you something like "Come on, we both love each other. It's just normal for us to have sex. It will be ok.", then, believe me, it isn't ok. They are obviously either manipulating you or don't want to listen to you which is rape, so if you genuinely don't want to do it, don't. If the person threatens you to leave you then, I'm sorry to say it, but they don't really love you or care about you.

This scene is just rape, but it's so bad, that it disturbed me.
1. Even if he is a masochist, that doesn't mean that he likes everything she likes. This is happening because they
- never talked about what they want/like
- aren't in any kind of relationship, which means he HAS to have a verbal consent (you can't just have a person who doesn't know the other go and have sex with them. They didn't talk before (about what they want and what kind of relationship they want) and the other person didn't even know that this will happen/is threatened. If this isn't rape, I don't know what is). I get that they know each other for a long time, but there IS a problem. I've never seen them sit down and just talk about stuff that are needed for a relationship to work. She doesn't know his boundaries (which everyone has and are important for it to be 100% consensual. That's why people that are in a BDSM relationship have a safe word.) and does as she likes.
2. Also, what the hell is wrong with this woman? She let the guy see him? For real? He's a teacher! He could get fired and stuff. I've seen this 'play' before but it's usually safe enough so no one sees anything, and she just didn't even care. She's selfish and does this out of anger which is just wrong. If we raped everyone that annoyed us or that we hated we would all serve a life sentence.
- She is abusive and manipulative too, which is just the worst kind of person you can be in a relationship with (any kind of relationship).
3. He's traumatized. TRAUMATIZED. I don't remember names, but that guy almost raped him before, and of all things, she uses a dildo?? Really? Did you even see his face? He was terrified! This is everything but consent. Even if he agreed to the thing before this, this is just her being immature and hateful, which isn't enough to just go and rape someone and in the worst way possible. Like, does she even think before she acts? This is why I was so disturbed. Rape is one thing, but raping an already traumatized person is another and you really have to be the worst kind of person to do that because SHE KNOWS that he's traumatized. She SAW how scared he was and now, she does this? I can't explain how bitter I feel towards her now. I know he's not the best person either, but no one deserves these things to happen to them.

I had to write this because I'm thinking about this girl for 3 days now and I'm genuinely disturbed and annoyed.

Yes, I agree. I like that it is detailed thought, because you understand every emotion they go through. I do like it for that. I like when I can understand characters, So.. But yes, you're 100% right. Also him scratching the floor with his nails was a good addition to just understand right away that it's rape. I do appreciate the art, that's for sure.

Also I kinda re-read the chapter now and she seems off too. The way she's drawn, she seems darker. And her eyes seem tired in a way. It kinda reminds me of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The way they drew her kinda changes in the last few episodes, and it was a great touch. Maybe I'm just overthinking, but I think she (the main character) has changed somehow...

Nah she didn't change everything that happens to Minho is just a way for the Jakkanim to keep him being in relation with Doona for abusive sex scenes Jakkanim is just trying to add something for every demographic. Which is why she had a Yuri scene, will add a Yaoi scene later, and now a rape abuse scene.

I know right? I also want to see how things end up. If these two end up together and I was the author I would need around 50 more chapters because their relationship went from 0 to like 60 and back to 0, so 50+ chapters to just get him to trust her wouldn't be enough, so I really don't see this relationship working. Even if it does in the end it would be just the author's choice. But I still do care about the characters (not so much the main character, lol. She made me dislike her because of these few chapters), and I wish/hope we get to see more realistic events....

Ok, so... It was 1987 when he was 14. Now when he's, like he says, 37, is 2009. So, 1987-14=1973 (this is the year when he was born). That means that his current age is 36. First he said he's 35, and then he said he's 37. He was lying for his age 2 times... I've never had to do math for a yaoi manga.. What the hell... I spend like 5-10 minutes truing to figure it out... There's something wrong with me XD

Not sure which chapter you are referring to, but in general age in Japan is a bit complicated because it also takes in consideration of the birth date. A person doesn’t gain a year of age until after their birthday. For example, if I had been born in 1 Dec 2000 then in Japan I would be 18 years old right now, but 19 years old in most of the rest of the world.

Haha, you didn't need to do the math for his current age..it's already been said he is 36 yrs old on chapter 4.
I also don't think he lied about his age. i think he messed up his correct age because he doesn't really know how old he is...like he is lonely as heck and stopped counting his birthdays when ryou disappeared back then. he also has no one to celebrate it with so he doesn't care about it.
but if author san really intended to make him lie about his age then thats really funny.
The closing of the phone was so great, I just imagined an anime/movie/whatever ending like that and it's great.
Also, this is so emotional, wth XD
