Some ppl are super defensive about this story and believe every critic is "vanilla" or a child, but the writing isn't even that good. I've read fanfic that had much better exploration of trauma through sex idk why this is the standard but the bar is in hell. It's an okay and entertaining enough story, I can see what it's trying to do, but it is inconsistent and leads the plot in certain arcs only to unsatisfyingly change its direction/aim/mood. If this is your standard for a bdsm story then that feels sad to me, cz bdsm is treated like nothing more than bad and scary sex in this by both the mc and ml it feels a little repetitive. I read to see if there's character development but it's a bit slow, so I'll probably drop now.
and tbh I'm not sure why it bothers some to see this story called out for bad bdsm. That's a normal reaction and it's probably internet brainrot to constantly seek justification for shitty plots just bc they're entertaining. An honest critique is not harming anybody, just like justifying the story isn't hurting anybody, bc it's all fiction, but some ppl can only seem to understand "it's just fiction" one way.

I think you could maybe come back when it's finished(i mean: finished with side stories and all, i rlly hope they adapt the side stories...) and honestly the novel is way better than the manhwa there's so much of mc's thoughts left out and I do think that the bdsm portrayal is bad here bc...the mc doesn't really know bdsm he's clueless abt it(this is his first bdsm relationship, he didn't even know what play meant AND trust isn't really there) and the ml is not really good at teaching him except for the safe word!!! Not to mention mc's personality(let's not forget to mention ml's personality either...) plays in a lot of their odd dynamic
but once we come to understand mc's background and how he navigates through that more(plus ml's background a bit more)...they just make sense, they're made for each other
And no their relationship is not healthy but even so, i loved the story 100%(they're madly in love with each other despite their flaws )
(The side stories were really rewarding because their bdsm relationship and other aspects of their relationship became better, i wont give spoilers)

It's been over a month so I kinda lost interest in keeping up with this story. I don't really agree that it's too soon to judge, bc bad writing doesn't suddenly become good if the writing later gets better?? Not saying you can't enjoy this, bc my fave stories have plot holes and moments of bad writing too. I've written comments before with a lot of understanding and analysis of the MC and ML's characters and I think the author went in an interesting direction, I can see the compatibility, but ultimately I just can't stand the pacing or the writing anymore.

Is this based on the novel? They have the same names and everything. I honestly imagined Seowon as a brunette though. I feel like the novel makes Seowon a little less desperate and pitiable, but the manhwa makes him look so pathetic
