I find the MC so cute and adorable, and I feel so bad for him when I think of the bits that have been revealed about his past (the abuse & neglect). And when someone (I think it was one of the comedians) asked him "why do you think no one will help you?" I just SOBBED. Because damn, of course when you grow up let down by the adults who were supposed to cherish and protect you, it affects your ability to trust other adults in the future.

What's been going on with the past many chapters? The FL has become a one-dimensional character, the two princesses from the other country are enabled to an unrealistic degree, and the whole story just isn't going anywhere anymore. Every chapter is just as pointless as the one before it. I'll wait until the next chapter and then decide if I drop this or not.

the person in lise's body is actually the author of the og novel. which basically means that she has authority over the main characters, that includes the ducal family - killian, cliff, duke, duchess. but edith slowly breaks lise's authority towards the main characters (most especially killian) by completing certain requirements.
