Just from reading this and the other manga, researchers are basically still researching emergence. I don't know how this manga lines up with the other one's timeline (Mamiya seems a lot older AND MARRIED), but I don't think emergence is as common as you think. Its not like 1/5 guys emerge. So society for the most part would still be the same judgmental pit, with a few "helpful" programs along the way. I'm just putting this in perspective. Imagine if there were about 50 people (more or less) in the WHOLE LGBTQ community of your country.
