The glasses’ guy’s lack of emotion throughout the whole story really kind of took me out of it and made it hard to sympathize/connect with him. I don’t hate characters with limited emotions/expressions, but you have to still give them some kind of charm or personality to make up for that or at least make them interesting, but that didn’t happen here. Couldn’t find myself rooting for these two at all. Felt indifferent by the end
Shiba is just too unrealistically childish and whiny. Didn’t really feel like a love story between two men. Another victim of the dreaded “must make the uke act like a stereotypical anime schoolgirl” syndrome. The senpai literally admitting he doesn’t even see Shiba as an actual man really seals the deal.
I get what youre saying and im not trying to disagree with you. But I think he meant he didn't see Shiba as a man, he just saw Shiba as Shiba in response to his brothers concern of there being difficulties with the both of them being men. Like "other ppl may see us as 2 men but it's just 2 ppl who love each other to me". I admit it did catch me off guard at first when he said that though
Maybe the original version worded it better than the translation, I could be wrong abt all this ofc
