There must’ve been some unforeseen circumstances that forced him to leave Korea and it took so long for those issues to get out of the way that Hyeonji died and Haebom grew up, by then he must’ve been too embarrassed to come back so he stayed away but he’s so old now and time’s running out so he finally picked up the courage to come back. I just hope Theo isn’t dying and that they’ll have the possibility to make up for lost time and be a family!
